I'm a BIG Tinker Bell fan. I'm the one that asked back in April about if it is OK to get a Disney tattoo and I got a very pretty Tinker Bell tattoo on my left shoulder, as well as a yin yang Mickey icon on the small of my back.

This Tinker Bell story starts at home. A good friend of mine gave me the book "The Trouble With Tink", which is part of the "Fairies" Disney line. Her XX year old daughter then bought her the book XXX. When I was going on my trip to WDW I thought wouldn't it be cool to get both of the books autographed by Tinker Bell? I was pretty sure that Tinker Bell didn't give autographs but I wasn't sure if she did when she landed from flying from the Castle (I found out she lands on a roof, so no to that), or if she started giving autographs due to the "Fairies" stuff. So I thought I'd give it a try and took both of the books with me to WDW in the beginning of Dec to see if I could get them autographed by Tinker Bell.

I carried the books around with me for about a week and I asked about a half dozen people that I though would know the most about Tinker Bell if getting her autograph was possible. I was answered with the disappointing "Tinker Bell doesn't give autographs, I'm sorry" by everyone. So, I stopped carrying around the books giving up on the idea of getting them autographed.

I had breakfast on morning at Cinderella's Royal Table. It was quite nice and Cinderella even gave me a Wand and a Wishing Star! But before she gave them to
me, I was busy looking around at all of the kids in the room and I wasn't listening to how to make your wishes! So someone will have to tell me the proper way to "Wish Upon a Star" according to the rules.

As I was leaving the Castle, I was walking with a Mother and Daughter past Tinker Bell's Treasures. I asked the little girl if she had ever woken up Tinker Bell - I never had. I told her about it and we went into the store and she "woke up Tinker Bell". It was so sweet. She was given a Certificate saying she had a Magical Moment of Waking up Tinker Bell. And Cast Member Linda wrote one out for me too!! How nice. A piece of history from my trip. The little girl and mother went on their way.

I though if anywhere, this was the place to ask about Tinker Bell's autograph. So I asked once again, and got the same answer. I happily explained to Linda why I wanted the autograph, for my friend and me, just as a story in passing, being friendly, not expecting anything. Linda thought for a moment and then said to me, "Maybe Peter Pan can get Tinker Bell to autograph them for you." WOW, how cooool. I could actually get Tinker Bell's autograph??? That's Awesome!!!!! I figure it's just someone in the back room going to sign the name Tinker Bell, but hey, that's fine with me, It's Tinker Bell's autograph from WDW!!!!!! But I didn't have my books with me, oh no ...... I had stopped carrying them around..... I told Linda that I would go back to my resort and get them, no problem. She said not to do that, she would be working until 2:30 the next day and we could do it then. Well.......

I went back to the shop the next day with the books. I didn't see Linda so I asked for her. They said "Linda who?" There is no Linda working here. Oh, panic..... They asked Linda X or Linda Y? I didn't get her last name. Cast Members don't give out their last names. I described her and they said it sounded like one of them but they didn't seem willing to find what shop she was in. So they asked if I would like to talk to the manager. I said sure. The manager came, the only Disney employee I've ever seen stressed.... I explained what "Linda" had said to my story and she said she would try to find Tinker Bell and took my books with her. I waited a while and then the clerk got a phone call from the manager and was told to tell me "Tinker Bell doesn't give autographs". Oh well, I tried. It was worth all the trouble to find out, no problem. But, the manager still had my books.... So the clerk called her back, and then hung up. The clerk told me that they couldn't understand a word that the manager said but that Probably she would come back with the books. ???? Huh??? Oh well, I'll wait, its all I can do, no prob. I'm a very patient person. They were trying their best to do me a favor, I'm still a happy camper. I'm in Disney, no better place to be!!! So I wait a while and I think it was Linda, but she came in and out so quick that I cant be sure. She handed me the little bag with my books in it and said have a good day and took off.

I don't know what made me do it at that moment, but I pulled out one of the books and opened it. Guess What???? They are Autographed By Tinker Bell!!!!!!!!!! Oh My Gosh, I actually got her autograph on my books???? I'm amazed. I feel so special. I feel wonderful. And, guess what? There's a special present too.... Someone else on the board talked about a special Tinker Bell pin that says "Where dreams come true" on it and there are two of them. One on a card that says "one for you" and one on a card that says "one to give". They put two of these in my bag. So I got two one for me and one to give and my girlfriend gets one and one to give. Isn't that so special!!!! I cant believe all of this has happened. Definitely Magical!!! I have a very special friend that I am going to give my Tinker Bell pin to.

The night before checkout I was talking with the concierge at my resort and I told her this story. She said that she thinks that I have gotten one of the very first actual Tinker Bell autographs. She said that they have been working on how they are going to present Tinker Bell physically to give autographs since they have issues. For example, Peter Pan is a full size boy but Tinker Bell is very tiny compared to Peter Pan, so they are not sure how they are going to address that. The signature has special features to it, like all of the other characters have special features. The Tinker Bell's autograph that is on the books has a wand through the left side of the cross on the T, the wand starts it and then wraps around to become the cross on the T. The end of the r in Tinker becomes the top of the B in Bell and the Tinker is written above and to the left of the Bell. It has dots in a lot of places surrounding the signature and some asterisk type of stars in places. On my book you can tell that it was drawn on by pencil first and then signed with a marker over top of the pencil.

As I said, it doesn't matter to me if it was written by some Cast Member in the back room and they just made up the signature on the spot. It's the sentiment and the willingness of the Cast Members to fulfill my request. It's truly a very special and Magical story in my life. -- ºoº Cindy ºoº - December 2006

I was at WDW on Walt's Birthday, Dec 5th. I figured that the average person at
the parks would not know that day was Walt's Birthday, so I had a special
t-shirt made to wear that day. It said on the back "Today is Walt Disney's
Birthday!" and on the front it said "Happy Birthday Walt Disney!" surrounding
the Mickey Icon. I wore it in the Magic Kingdom that day and I stopped at Guest
Relations to get a Happy Birthday Button and wrote Walt Disney's name on it and
put it on.

There were some guests that noticed and made comments to me saying thanks for
sharing the info. But I got a lot more comments from Cast Members. Most of
them said that they forgot or didn't realize it was Walt's Birthday. I asked
everyone if they knew what year he was born. (we all know it was 1901 and he
would have been 105 this year...) 8 out of 10 cast members didn't know the
right answer. It was nice, I had a quartet come talk with me as I was waiting
for the parade, we chatted about Walt. I liked letting people know. I had a
lot of "Happy Birthday's" said to me by Cast Members - I guess they just see the
button and congratulate you. But I was sure to say thank you very much but it's
Walt Disney's birthday, not mine!

Well, I had dinner that night at the Liberty Tree Tavern. My waiter was a very
nice man named Mark. When Mark came to my table and saw my shirt, he said
"Thank you so much for reminding me that Walt Disney has the same birthday as my
Mother". He said that he had forgotten. We started talking about Disney and he
asked me if I was from the area, I'm not, I'm from DE. He asked me if this was
my 1st trip or if I am a big Disney fan. Oh, yes a BIG Disney fan. Anyway,
every time he came to the table, we talked more about Disney, had very nice
conversations. He gave me a wonderful compliment. He told me that I would make
a great Cast Member! Wow, that was so nice of him to say!!!

So I was finished my dinner and I hadn't seen Mark in a while, either at my
table or at any of his other tables. I wondered if he went on a break or
something. Oh well, I'm in no hurry. I don't usually carry books with me, I
like to experience everything around me, not sit and read a book. But I
happened to have a small Tinker Bell book with me that a friend of mine gave me
so I picked it up to finish reading it. In a few moments, Mark came back with
the manager with him?? He introduced her and said on behalf of her, himself and
Disney they would like to give me a gift for the way I celebrate the spirit of
all things Disney! Wow!! How cool!!! The manager went away and Mark kept
saying that he hoped that the big Disney fan I am, that I didn't already have
what they gave me.... They gave me a little replica of the "Partners" statue in
the front of the Magic Kingdom where Walt and Mickey are standing hand in hand.
Oh my gosh isn't that wonderful! What a wonderful, magical experience that was!
I felt so honored.

It is soooo Magical at Disney, there is no doubt about that for me. It's
special every time I'm there. It's interesting, and special, that I had quite a
few really neat things happen on my trip this year. I'll be writing more about
it! -- ºoº Cindy in DE ºoº - December 2006

To me a magical moment is what makes Disney better than any other park. My magical moment happened when we took our then 4yo son to WDW. He had recently learned to write his name and was very proud of his new ability. He didn't really care much about getting autographs from the characters .. he did it because big brother was doing it. But what he was really wanting to do is show them that he could write his name. I will never forget Cinderella sitting down on the ground with him in her ball gown and patiently watching him write his name (as he carefully drew it out) and praising him so much for being able to do it and telling him what a smart boy he was. That would never happen anywhere else and that's what makes Disney magical.

My magical moment was in November 2001 when my DD was just 4. We had a rough year starting in August 2000. DD then 2 (almost 3) was diagnosed with cancer. We had a Nov. 2000 trip planned but had to cancel because she was scheduled for radiation then. Didn't want to postpone treatment so we postponed the trip. DD was more important. DD was heartbroken. First she's stuck in the hospital, violently ill, loses her hair and now she doesn't get to meet Minnie. We explained that we would go when she's better and make the trip longer. Fast forward to February 15th, 2001. Her last treatment! Immediately she's asking about WDW. Got the trip booked within the week. Yeah, we're going to WDW!

Fast forward again...9/11 happens and flights are changing, security is beefed up and WDW cuts back on everything. I wrote to WDW in early November (we were scheduled to go the day after Thanksgiving) to ask if SpectroMagic was happening on any of the nights we would be there since I knew DD was love it. WDW had taken been toning down the appearance of the parade since 9/11 and I wanted to make sure we didn't miss it. I explained our reasons for coming to WDW and wanting it to be special for my DD. I got the standard reply back ..."Thank you for writing...". But really no answer. Figured I would just find out when we checked into our resort, not a big deal. A couple days before we are scheduled to leave I got a phone call from one of the executives (can't remember the exact person) and she said they had recieved my email and they had some questions for me. I asked if I had typed something wrong (never know in the current state of country)in my email. She said no, that she just wanted to confirm the SpectroMagic times for me. Okay, but they didn't really have to call me.....

Then she said that WDW wanted to know what my DD's favorite character is. I said Minnie Mouse. She then asked which day I would be at the Magic Kingdom. Tuesday. Then she asked what time we would be available. I said anytime after breakfast because we were scheduled to eat at CRT that morning, so around 10am. She then gave me a confirmation number and her name and told mE to go to City Hall that morning and they would give me the arrangements for DD to privately meet with Minnie Mouse. WHAT!!! Cool!

Leave for the trip and everyone knows (my parents and DH's sister was also with) about the meeting but DD. On Tuesday morning I'm frantically searching all my information for the confirmation number. Can't find it anywhere. Lightbulb goes off...I left it on the refrigerator at home..so I wouldn't forget it. Giant tears start rolling down my face. I feel like the world's worst mother! I immediately (7am)go to Guest Services at the WL (where we were staying) and explain the situation. I had remembered the name of the woman I had talked to and wanted to know if they could somehow find out my number. By 8am everyone was ready to go to the MK for breakfast, except me. I was hanging out at Guest Services talking to several different people on the phone, explaining everything over and over. I got nowhere. I thanked the CM for trying to help me. Luckily DD didn't know anything about it. Figured we would just go find Minnie ourselves. Went to CRT and was having a wonderful breakfast. I loved seeing my DD in her new pixie hairdo (hair growing back), wearing her Minnie dress meeting all the Princesses. About half way thru we hear..."Royal Wipperfurth family, you are requested to stand up". What? What is happening? Why didn't this happen to anyone else? We stood and I'll admit we all appeared a bit embarrassed. Then they announced to the whole restaurant that DD was a cancer survivor and she was at WDW celebrating life. OH MY GOSH!! Tears are just running down my face! Next everyone claps and then a CM named Roz came to our table. She said that when we were done with breakfast to meet her in the lobby. Needless to say we were all extremely curious and rushed thru the rest of breakfast. All the Princesses had come over again and gave DD another hug and told her she was so brave. Then we went down to the lobby.

Roz was there waiting for us. She said that she was our personal escort to the characters. Yes, characters, as in plural. Taking DD in hand off we went to Toon Town. Stopping at various spots to get family pictures taken by Roz. We went in the back door to the judges tent and was able to visit all the character in each room, privately. One of the photographers followed us around. Roz would announce to each character why DD was there. The longest time was spent with Minnie. It was just too cute to see DD (in her Minnie dress, complete with ears and bow) and Minnie sitting together on the floor. Minnie also taught DD how to curtsy. Cinderella taught her how to twirl. Chip and Dale put her in the corner and said they were going to keep her. She bounced with Tigger. Then we went off to see Mickey, again thru the back door. He danced with DD. The smiles was wonderful. We also went and saw many other characters all over the park. In all we got about 25 autographs and hundreds of photos and video. Roz was great! We kept thanking her profusely. We still talk about that experience. I can't say how much it healed us to prance around the MK and see how happy DD was. It will always be a moment to remember for our family. -- Debbie in Wisconsin

We were at AK before opening on July 7th, we were the 2nd family through the turnstile we lined up behind. Anyway, once in I went straight over to the stroller rental and sent DH up ahead with our tickets for FPs. By the time we caught up with the crowd in front of the Tree of Life, we were pretty far back but we were holding on the right side against the rope.

About 5 minutes before the rope was to drop a CM walked over, grabbed my dad and said, "Tarzan called in sick for today's opening show, can we use him." Of course me and my two oldest DDs pushed him at her. She tells all of us to come with her so we do. Once we're up front, she tells us that we're going to follow behind the vehicle with the characters and be the first family on Kilimanjaro Safari. A freak and tell her "I've got to get my husband!" and go running through the crowd like a mad woman.

I find my husband, briefly explain to him what's going on and we take off. My two oldest DDs carried the rope that the crowd followed behind. The girls were grinning from ear to ear and my dad was thankful he didn't have to be Tarzan.

It changed our plans a bit for the morning but that's ok. It was a magical change. -- Melissa in St. Louis

My son had a magical moment during our December 2003 "surprise" Christmas trip.

Our family was in the MK enjoying Wishes in front of the castle. When instructed to do so, my son, who was 9 at the time, made his wish. Later in the evening he told me that he wished "a friend could be at WDW too". I told him that was a great wish and didn't think much of it again.

On our next day at MK we were exploring Tom Sawyer's Island and as we entered the fort area around the corner we find one of my son's friends from school with his family. We enjoyed a nice visit with them and the boys played. It was wonderful. After we said our goodbyes, my son turned to me and said "my wish really came true!!" I told him that we were in a truly magical place. We ran into his friend again a couple of days later in Epcot and they enjoyed Test Track together.

My son still talks about how his wish came true at WDW. -- Sue Walker

My magical moment was at Disneyland. We sat down to get our picture drawn in chalk by a wonderful CM (artist) there. As he was drawing the picture I asked him to make my face a bit thinner in the picture. What I got was the perfect portrait of my husband and I. It perfectly captured us and he left out my double chin. It still hangs on our wall in our living room as it has for the last 10 years. Of all the pictures on my wall that is the one that gets the most compliments. I still think about that CM and what a wonderful artist he is. -- Angela

Our happened one morning at EPCOT. We got up early and my son decided he wanted to go to EPCOT. We never plan out the park we want to go to. We just play it by ear. Well, it was his birthday that day and he loves EPCOT. He was turning 8. Well, DH and I were talking and DH had an eye on him. Well, my son is VERY outgoing and will talk to just about anybody. He loves people and is not afraid to ask for something he wants. Well, DH noticed that he was talking to the cast member and that he was asking him something. I guess my son told him his name was the same as his. Well, the cast member motioned for DH and I to come up. Well, it turns out he was looking for a family to open the park. So he chose us. I was totally surprised and DS loved all the attention. Did I mention that he LOVES attention. He was in his glory. All thru the day people noticed him and said hi to him. It was so funny. It probably didn't hurt that he was wearing a huge cake shaped hat that we had bought at Target just for our trip. We have had many magical moments at Disney, but this one sticks out because DS is the one that started it.

Did I mention that my son is VERY, OUTGOING? LOL!! -- Michelle
