Who does your family consist of? Myself, my husband Ken, and our 19 year old son Nik.
What is your occupation? Youth Services Librarian in a public library near Washington, D.C.
Who is your favorite Disney Character and why? Goofy--he's our guy! Just a sweet, lovable, funny character who makes us laugh--love that Goofy yell.
How many times have you vacationed to a Disney destination? About 17 beginning the year after the MK opened.
What is your favorite Disney Resort (or off site property) and why? We always stay at All Star Music, which has a good combination of price, theming and laid-back atmosphere. Our son loves the guitar pool with the Three Cabelleros shooting water. We'd like to stay at Wilderness Lodge sometime in the future; it's really attractive plus you get to ride the boat to and from MK.
What is your favorite Disney restaurant, in or out of the parks? We normally eat at counter service places. We enjoy Columbia Harbor House in MK. The pastry shop at France in Epcot is great for treats, and Sunshine Seasons Food Court in The Land has a good selection of interesting foods. We'd like to try Boma and hope to do so on our next trip.
What is your favorite ride or attraction at any of the Disney parks? The Great Movie Ride at the Studios is a must for our family as is the Kilimanjaro Safari at AK. My personal favorite is a tie between POTC & Peter Pan in MK (I see a sailing theme...pirate ships in both). Love the changes in POTC.
When visiting Disney theme parks, do you "park hop" or not and why? We usually do not hop as one park a day seems to be enough. We normally go to the MVMCP so that gives us an extra special night at MK. This year we plan skip MVMCP and try park-hopping just for something different.
What is your favorite Disney memory? Seeing my son's face as Tinkerbelle flew right over his head. It was definitely worth waiting in the rain for that!
What is your favorite "extra cost" event/tour? Have only done MVMCP, but I would like to visit the trains at MK, and I would also love to have lunch with an Imagineer.
Have you met any MFL members at a Disney park? If so, who and what did you do? Yes, I have met the delightful Barbara of Suds Service fame briefly at a meet she organized at WL. I am looking forward to meeting others I know through the list, especially John Cardona who has been so kind in sending fun things to my Disney-loving son.
Besides "things Disney", what do you like to do in your free time? Read, browse bookstores, watch old movies, listen to Hawaiian slack-key guitar music, knit and spend time with my son.
What would people be surprised to know about you? I once flew on the Concorde from London to Washington, D.C. back in 1976.
What is your best MouseForLess money saving tip? Go in value season if possible, and use TMFL Travel as they will watch for any codes that will lower your cost further even after your reservation is made.
What area of TheMouseForLess.com do you use most frequently? News, Trip Planning info, and Downloads for our trip, especially the Mousekeeping envelopes and CM Appreciation Cards.
What is your favorite aspect of MFL? "Meeting" and making friends with others who enjoy traveling to WDW--feeling a part of a larger community even if we have never met face-to-face.
