Tower of Terror

Please email any photo that you would like to share for this ride to: linda@themouseforless.com

Synopsis:
Brave the creepy facade of a once-glorious hotel for a jolt back in time. Board a phantom elevator, shoot up 13 stories and brace yourself for a thrilling plummet... but beware! The experience just got scarier. You rocket back up, only to plummet down yet again. You dare to ride once more, but wait! That's not what happened before. That's right, now the Tower is in control, so it's never the same fear twice!

Attraction Category:
•   Big Thrills

Location:
•   Hollywood Tower Hotel

Height Requirement:
•   40" (102 cm) or taller

Do you want to ride the Tower of Terror, but you're too scared? It really isn't all that bad. The first time I rode the Tower of Terror I was only 5 years old. Yes, I was a little nervous, but I rode it with no problems. When you get to the front of the ride you walk up a long walk way. Then you enter the hotel lobby that of course is very dusty and made to look scary, but remember it's just for show. Next, you enter a library where you watch a movie to show people that the ride is based on an old T.V. series, THE TWILIGHT ZONE. The story line is that something strange happened to the hotel guests that went into the Hollywood Tower Hotel elevator. The same thing will happen to you when you enter that same elevator, but don't worry as you get one last time to change your mind. You stop at a few floors, but you will really like the last one. That is where the real fun starts. Oh! And make sure you smile or make a funny face during your drop because you are going to get your picture taken. When you get off of the ride you may take a look at your picture and you might even buy it. Last, but not least, there is a gift shop on your way out. So, you see it really isn't all that bad when you enter THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

P.S. be sure to stop and buy a frozen coffee slush from the little cart at the exit when you leave.

Must See? (yes/no)

I am totally freaked out by the Tower of Terror! I think this is the scariest ride in Walt Disney World. You walk down into the basement of an old hotel (Very Creepy). You get on an elevator. At first this ride goes through the hotel and has some cool visual effects. Then it is time for the terror! The doors open and you see all of MGM in front of you. The elevator drops, but quickly comes back so you can drop again, and again, and again. When this ride drops you and takes you up for the next drop the pattern is random so you never know what you are going to get. Older Kids and teenagers will love this ride.
