Name Of Resort: Animal Kingdom Lodge
Date Of Stay: October, 2005
Type Of Resort: Disney Deluxe
Rate Paid During Your Stay: we used DVC points, and while it is not the best "value" for our points, we felt it was worth it. We can't wait to bring our kids back here.
Room Sleeps: our room slept 4, it had 2 double beds. We did walk past some and saw bunkbeds through the windows. We were on the ground floor looking out at the pool. We did ask for an upgrade to a savanah view and the CM really tried to find us something, but they were booked solid.

Comments: Make sure and take some time at night to view the Savanah with the night vision goggles. Very fun ! Also one of the best viewing spots we found during the day was on one of the outside stairways, it overlooked 2 of the different savanahs so we got to sit and enjoy the animals for quite a while. Not as comfy as the rocking chairs in some of the viewing stations, but a great view none the less. We can't wait to bring our kids back here, and will definately again do it on "non park days" in our itinerary so we can enjoy the resort to it's fullest.

Theming: 10 - This is such a beautifully decorated resort that keeps very
much with an elegant African theme from the beautiful art work down to the
incredible landscaping.
Room Size: 8 - Last time we stayed here, it was just four of us. This time,
we had our four month old in tow. We thought the size of the room last time
was very generous. This time, we had a little trouble figuring out the best
spot for the baby's crib. It didn't quite fit right between the beds, or
between the bed and the wall; and we didn't want to put it up against the
sliding door. We ended up squeezing it in between the fridge and the armoire. We could have also used a little more room in the closet.
Amenities: 10 - you will want for nothing here, from children's activities
to gourmet dining.
Quality: 10

Value: Priceless
Over All Rating: 10
Don't Miss: Children's activities
Room Location Suggestion: I prefer the third floor, but we had excellent
animal views on the 2nd.
The Mouse For Less Tip: There is so much to do at this resort that you could
certainly plan an inexpensive day away from the parks to spend it here. There are children's activities (most are free, but we participated in one where you could make a rag doll - it was $10 for the supplies), the animals, a great zero entry pool, good food at the food court, and just an awesome atmosphere. We also definitely got our money's worth from our mugs - and we only stayed here two days.
Comments: I love this resort for so many reasons. Utilize the AP rates or
FL resident rates to make this a more affordable stay. You do not need a
savannah view to enjoy the beautiful animals or atmosphere, so if you want
to stay here, don't feel you need to put out the extra money for the
savannah view.
