Club 33 Menu

Club 33

Who: Linda N, The Magic For Less Travel

Where: Club 33

When: September 19, 2008

What: Dinner - Prix Fixe menu (called the Vintner). Salad: romaine with apple, panacetta, and a yummy dressing. Included pineapple and I tasted cilantro. Was quite tasty. Appetizer: Softshell crab prepared tempura style. Entree: Beef short rib with fingerling potatoes, and a yummy sauce. Cheese Platter: three really great cheeses which I can neither remember nor pronounce. Was sort of like a swiss, a brie, and something else that reminded me of a dense muenster. They were all imported. Dessert: Chocolate orange cake. Also had the wine pairings with the meal. Salad had a chardonnay, appetizer had a pinot noir, entree had red of some sort which I did not care for. Cheese had a shiraz which I drank, and dessert had a very sweet dessert wine.

Unfortunately I did not write down the wines, but they paired with each course.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)

Food: 5!!

Service: 5! There were at least three people taking care of our party of 8.

Atmosphere:

Okay for Children: Its a park restaurant with a very strict dress code. No shorts or flip flop thong shoes. There were children in here, but this is a long meal and fine dining. Our reservation was for 6pm, and we probably were seated by 6:20pm. Didn't leave until 9:15pm. (Fireworks were at 9:25pm).

Okay for Couples: Yes - its a tough reservation to get, made by someone who is a member. Unless you are a member, or know a member, it is impossible to get seated. But once inside, expect fine china, heavy silverware, dim lighting.

Be Sure to Try: Anything and everything. Food here seemed wonderful, and while I did not care for softshell crab, others at the table really enjoyed it. The wine flights were paired for each course and finished with a sweet dessert wine. They also do not serve tap water--only bottled. (And after drinking Anaheim water for a week I see why!)

General Tip: Never, ever, turn down an opportunity to dine at Club 33! It is a Disneyland original and very exclusive. The food was fabulous and with appropriate portions. Service was also excellent and well worth the tip.

Extra comments: This was a fabulous experience and I would gladly go back. I was part of a reservation where someone knew someone who was a member, and the member made our reservation. There were 8 of us dining. Was the ultimate Disneyland splurge for me. I would do this meal again.

Who: Jessica Johnson, Deb Chambers Linda and Mike Stockwell

Where: Club 33

When: April 2004

What: Lunch. In addition to the buffet, containing shrimp, lobster, crab, pate, fruits, cheeses, and salads, I had English Mustard Basted Petit Filet, and the Sweet Flight.  Sweet Flight is a dessert sampler that had a Strawberry Rhubarb Shortcake, Valrhona Chocolate Pots de Creme & Raspberry Coulis, Lemon Meringue "Pie" and Decadet Mini Valrhona Chocolate Truffle Pound Cake

Approximate Price of Entrees: It's a fixed price, and I believe was about $50.00 per person

TheMouseForLess Tip: Not dollarless, but a once in a lifetime sort of thing!

Extra comments: Club 33 is a private club, and you must be a member, or know a member in order to get in.  They serve lunch and dinner, and are the only place in the Disneyland Park where you can get an alcoholic beverage.
