Atmosphere:
Okay for Children: yes, character meal w/ Goofy, Donald, Pluto,
Minnie & I think Mickey?
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: it was all the usual breakfast foods. The 'Mickey'
waffles were not very good.
General tips: We had reservations for 9:30. Left AS Sports at 8:30
and got there at 9:28. Have to take a bus to Epcot, monorail to TTC
then to Contemporary. Buses & Monorails were REALLY busy!
Who: Shaw Family - 3 adults, 2 kids
Where: Chef Mickey's - Contemporary Resort
When: Friday, Sept. 12, 2008
What: Dinner Character Buffet. There is a kid's buffet which
included mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and pizza. The main buffet
line included salads, cheeses, parmesan mashed potatoes, prime rib,
pasta dishes, and breads. The dessert station includes a toppings
bar for the soft serve as well as a good selection of cakes and
pastries.
Approximate Price of Entrees: Total was approx. $120...we were on
DDP, so we only paid the tip.

Food: 5
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: There are areas where you could sit and not be
in the middle of all of the activity, so maybe.
Be Sure to Try: The parmesan mashed potatoes, the desserts,
everything here is good.
General tips: Definitely make sure you have an ADR because this place
gets very crowded. There are two identical buffet lines. The one
that faces the back of the restaurant tends to be less crowded. As
you enter the restaurant, they take your picture and then present you
with a photo package while you are eating. You do not have to buy it.
TheMouseForLess tips: Reasonable as part of the DDP, there is a lot of
variety and it's a fun atmosphere--definitely worth the money.
Extra Comments: There is a lot of construction going on in the
Contemporary right now, but not within the restaurant itself.

Okay for Children: Yes, absolutely yes!! The kids get started in the waiting area and then once we get to sit at the table they are so excited!!
Okay for Couples: Yes, it is nice to have the characters interact with the parents and not just the children.
Be Sure to Try: I loved the biscuits with gravy on top and the mickey mouse waffles!!
General tips: I took the tip from others and booked the latest breakfast I could so it isn't so hectic. It worked.
TheMouseForLess tips: This is eat until you drop no limit
Extra Comments: I liked that the cm came to ask us if we were visited by all the characters and when we mentioned not by minnie he brought her over and she stayed for a while!!
Chef Mickey Breakfast (1 table service)
Amie - 5/15/08
We have done dinner here in the past and also really enjoy it but this time
did breakfast....another variety buffet....enjoy the food and it was a nice
place. Lots of Characters....Donald, Minnie, Mickey, Pluto and Goofy. Lots of
fun and exciting...
we did have a bad Pluto who took the picture really fast and kinda ran
off....so I had to get someone to bring him back to sign my son't book. Other
then that we had a great experience.

Okay for Children: Absolutely!!!
Okay for Couples: Sure
Be Sure to Try: THE BREAD PUDDING!! BEST ON PROPERTY!!!
General tips: If you don't like your table, don't accept it. They
wanted to sit us in the back next to the kitchen door - I was like -
um, I don't think so.
TheMouseForLess tips: See if they will take your picture in front of the
plate with your camera instead of buying theirs.
Extra Comments: Best character interaction on property!
Who: The Stermel Family (Me, DW, Dad, DD-6)
Where: Chef Mickey's, Contemporary Resort
When: 2/1/06
What: Breakfast
Approximate Price of Entrees: Buffet, $18.99 per adult, $10.99
child...used diniing plan
Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes, it's very much geared for the young ones
Okay for Couples: No, I'd imagine a childless couple would get pretty
frazzled here
Be Sure to Try: Minnie's Breakfast Pizza, fresh made omlettes,
biscuits & gravy
General tips: If arriving by the Monorail from the TTC, allow extra
time, the Monorail does it's loop before going back to the
Contemporary
TheMouseForLess tips: There are photographers here who will take a
picture of your group at the table. These do NOT go onto your
Photopass and the hefty cost makes them not worth it, IMHO.
Extra Comments: Great for the kids, it inclues a visit from the Boss,
Mickey, as well as Minnie, Goofy, Plutio and Chip & Dale. Be careful
at peak eating time, I almost tripped over several zooming kids while
bringing my food plate back to the table.
Who: Riordan Family - dh, myself, dd-7, ds-6
Where: Chef Mickey's, Contemporary
When: Januray 21, 2006
What: Dinner - Character Buffet
Approximate Price of Entrees: DDP - would have cost us approx $100 otherwise
Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5 - everyone liked the buffet
Service: 5 - had a great waiter
Atmosphere: 5 - what a blast! Love the entertainment!
Okay for Children: YES! Characters.
Okay for Couples: Yes, even couples enjoy it. You could request the area off to the side - less character interaction on that side.
Be Sure to Try: Garlic Parm. Mashed Potatoes! Yummy!
General tips: MUST do ADRs - saw people turned away constantly!
TheMouseForLess tips: DDP
Extra Comments: A great character experience!
Who: Jeff, Heidi, Sabrina, Corwin
Where: Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort
When: Jan 21, 2006 (dinner), Jan 23 & 27, 2006 (breakfast)
What: dinner and breakfast
Approximate Price of Entrees: All meals are buffets. Dinner: Adult $22.99, Child $12.99 (Total for us: $102.04 with tax and gratuity; we used the Dining
Plan). Breakfast: Adult $13.99, Child $10.99 (Total for us: $74.00 with
tax and gratuity).
Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5 (plentiful buffets with lots to choose from)
Service: 5 (you serve yourself the buffet, but our waiters always
replenished drinks, took away used dishes, etc).
Atmosphere:
Okay for Children: Yes, character dining!
Okay for Couples: Yes - we saw many couples dining and enjoying the
buffets - and the characers!
Be Sure to Try: The Mickey Shaped Waffles at breakfast! And the
parmesan-garlic-mashed-potatoes at dinner were heavenly!
General tips: I HIGHLY recommend a reservation. We saw many people
turned away because they were booked. And arrive a little eary if
possible - we waited about 15 minutes to be seated, but others waited up to
30 minutes to be seated.
TheMouseForLess tips: This buffet is well-worth the money. You can always
skip the portraits that they try to sell to you during dinner. (Before you
are seated you are directed to a photographer who takes a portrait and then
delivers to your table for viewing and purchasing - I believe the package is
about $33). Also, Chef Mickey's is part of the Dining Plan - so dinner is
certainly a savings.
Extra Comments: Overall a really good buffet - with lots to choose from
and something for everyone (even my son, who is an extremely picky eater!).
The children's buffet has your staples for dinner - chicken fingers,
mickey-shaped macaroni and cheese, etc. The children's breakfast buffet has
the Mickey-shaped waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, etc. There is
also a cereal station with several varieties at breakfast time - which turns
into the ice cream station for dinner. Aside from the waiting time that
some people experienced, even with reservations - this is definitely worth a
stop. The character interaction is great. The characers all made their way
around several times and interacted with all of us. They also have a song
that they play where everyone gets involved by waving their napkins in the
air. It's a fun event!

Be Sure to Try: he salmon and brocoli were wonderful. My fav desert
was the little mickey mouse hats! I wished we could have purchased
some for the trip home.
General tips: Be sure to make a ressie. We had a 6:00pm ressie. We
arrived early and were seated at 5:15 or so.
Extra Comments: Service was great.
Who: Rouse Family (3 adults, 9 yo and 11 yo)
Where: Chef Mickey's
When: October 2005
What: Dinner
Approximate Price of Entrees: $160 for 4 adults (11yo) including 4 smoothies (yummy)
Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5

Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes...Mickey and the gang!
Okay for Couples: Could be...I wouldn't pick this for an adults only meal,
but that's just me!
Be Sure to Try: mashed potatoes (excellent!) and the desserts were wonderful
General tips: Have your autograph books and cameras ready! This place is
very fast paced!
TheMouseForLess tips: We felt this was a good use of the dining plan. The
waitress suggested we order the smoothies for our drink since the buffet
comes with a soda. This was the only place that told us that.
Extra Comments: My kids love eating here...not just for the food but because
they love to visit the Contemporary. However, I think the food is much
better than it has to be (I mean, most people are there for the
experience). My kids are pretty much done with character meals, yet they
still want to eat here for the food and location!
Who: Angela G. and family Angela, Allan(dh), William(ds)
Where: Chef Mickey's-Contemporary resort
When: 10/9/05
What: Breakfast/lunch 11am
Approximate Price of Entrees: Unsure because we are on the dining plan and
this restaurant did not give a receipt with the cost on it.
Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: Great

Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes, any child will love it.
Okay for Couples: Yes, not romantic but lots of fun. Must love kids.
Be Sure to Try: Mickey waffles.
General tips: Watch when you go to refill that the characters are not about
to come to your table or you could miss them.
TheMouseForLess tips: If you want to purchase the pictures they take here but
your picture is not a good one ask for a retake.
Extra Comments: When we went the characters seemed really rushed at this
restaurant and only stopped long enough for pictures with our son but not
for us adults. This restaurant had the most going on and was very
stimulating and loud beware if you have a child with Autism or ADHD and
prepare them ahead of time.

Okay for Children: Great atmosphere for kids. Buffets are terrific
for my picky daughter
Okay for Couples: Yes, as long as you are not interested in a quiet,
private location.
Be Sure to Try: Mickey Waffles
General tips: The characters were a lot of fun. Especially Minnie. Also, there were two birthday's being celebrated and it was fun to watch the CM's and characters get everyone involved in the celebration.
TheMouseForLess tips: I can't say enough about the Dining Plan. We are a family that prefers sitting to eat and character meals. The Dining Plan is the only way to go in this case!
Extra Comments: I felt pressured to buy the photo's that were taken on arrival to the restaurant. They weren't that great. I would have preferred to have a character included.
