My notes are in the car and I am too lazy to go outside so... we'll see how I do without them.
We left the house at 7:30am cranked up the Disney tunes and arrived at DTD at 9:15am. We waited outside the disney Pin trading shop until it opened at 9:30. We got 3 build-a-pins I got the castle with Cinderella, Belle and Minnie. DS #1 got "Ears to you 2002" with Goofy, Mickey & Donald and DS#2 got the Epcot one with Goofy and Tigger. This is a great store and a Must see for all pin enthusiasts. Next we headed across the walkway to Once Upon a Toy. Oh My...this is a park in itself. We could have spent all day in there. Mr Potato head, tinker toys, lincoln logs, games, toys, computer games...a lot of hands on stuff to keep the kiddos happy for a long time. The new stuff for the Monorail set is great DS#2 was making a list for his
Mimi & Poppop for Christmas presents (they add to his monorail set each year.) Next DH and the boys went to Lego store while I went to World of Disney to get the postcards I had promised to send to fellow MFLers. Then we headed to Epcot.
At 10:50 we entered Epcot and headed for the Land pavillion. We went up to the passholders lounge and had to wait in line 25 minutes in the lounge to get our passes for Shockwave! This was the longest wait we had all day! We then headed over to Journey into Imagination with Figment. WOW!!!! We were so happy. It is a great ride. We have all missed Figment and were so pleased with the new ride.
Then it was off to the monorail to MK. We arrived at MK and went to Exposition Hall to get a copy of the 100 Magic Kingdom Memories Challenge Sheet. We read through the sheet as we headed down Main St and veered off at the Ice cream store to head past Plaza Pavillion and into Tomorrowland. We answered some Tomorrowland questionas as we walked through and headed to CoP. We were VERY, VERY disappointed to find this closed again. We have missed it the last 14 days we have visited. My kids love this and were very upset.
We saw a new to us Disney band in Tomorowland and while DH and he boys watched I wrote out my MFL postcards. We regroupd got FP for Buzz and got in line for TTA. (Yes there actually was a line, but, of course it moved fast.) We answered more questions while riding the TTA then we headed to Plaza Pavillion for lunch. We have never eaten here before and because it was cool and shady we gave it a try. I had 2 quick and casual meal certificates from Connections that had arrived in the mail the day before. We used one for lunch and lost money on it!! You pay $11 for the oupon and the most expensive of our 2 meals was $10.86. My DH was upset that I would fall for this (I'm glad I only ordered 2). DH and DS#2 shared a pizza, salad and
drink while myself and DS#1 shared chicken fingers, fries, drink and an ice cream bar.
After lunch it was time for BUZZ. DH beat us all again he always hits
the 100,000 point target!! Then DS#2 got to choose whatever ride he wanted before we headed back to Epcot. He chose Jungle Cruise so we headed in that direction searching for answers to trivia questions along the way. The Jungle Cruise sign said 30 minute wait but I knew it wouldn't be that long. We boarded our boat in exactly 10 minutes. We actually heard 2 new jokes on the ride! Then we walked toward PotC to answer some more questions. Then we were heading out before the parade got to Main street. Well. we noticed there was no line for Aladin's Magic Carpet ride so we hopped on for a quick
spin around Agribah before leaving MK. We headed to Main street and of course the parade was arriving the same time we were. We cut through the stores and out to catch the monorail back to Epcot.
On the monorail I started getting a bad sinus headache. I was out of my medicine at home so I didn't have any packed in my bag. We arrived at Epcot and rode in the globe. I explained to my family how to play Roulette and we all picked a scene and....we didn't stop once!!! Neither did my headache. The bumping on the ride was killing me. While DH and boys played at the end of the ride I sat on a bench and cried. I told DH that I had read on MFL that some stores have medicine. He ran over to guest relations and they sent him to mouseworks. By the time we met him at mouseworks DSs and I were
walking slowly he had gotten me Tylenol sinus and we headed to the cool wash for a coke. Test track was a 60 minute wait so we decided not to ride and we headed to Mexico. DS #2 wanted to ride the ride so we did. Then we started hitting Kidcot stops all th way around until USA. There we got more sodas and found our great seats for Shockwave-Blast 2. It was a super show. As a music educator I love shows that really show talent (unlike so many of today's popular music acts). We had a great time and by now my headache was gone :-) We visited a few more country's kidcot stops and got stuck in Tapestry of Dreams traffic. We all dislike this parade and didn't enjoy being forced by the crowds and the CMs to stayput and watch the parade but
there was no way to move forward!!!
We decided to go to Beaches and Cream for supper it was ok. We all had burgers, nothing that great. But what was neat was 2 of my sister's friends from high school were staying with their family's at the Yacht and Beach Club and they recognized me from 20 years ago so I got to get them caught up on my sister and our family. After dinner we walked back through Epcot to the car and drove home listening to more Disney tunes, but not so cranked up so the boys could sleep. We arrive home at 10:30pm.
It was a fun day. DH and I go back for the day 9/14 to show some friends who have never been to Epcot around. The we all go 9/27-29 to AKL for a mini family reunion. can't wait for September!!
