The Krasner Family Vacation
Me - Tina
Hubby- Willy
DD -AnnaRose - age 5
1:10PM we took off from JFK Airpost heading down to Orlando. Home of the Mouse himself, the Big Cheese.
It's now 2:10PM and we are flying somewhere over North Carolina at 519mph and 3706 2 ft. Anna is enjoying a movie on her DVD player and Willy is eating
biscotti, listening to jazz on the Direct TV that JetBlue offers. As for me, I'm eating blue chips (yes, blue) and typing to all of you. The flight has
been uneventful, smooth flying so far.
Arrived at Orlndo internatioanal airport at 3:30pm got off plane and almost died. It was so hot and humid here. Anyway, our driver at Tiffiany Limo
picked us up stopped by a 7-11 for sodas and water and on to the All-Star Music Resort. The resort is nothing fancy, big pool which Anna just loved.
We pretty much hung out at the resort for the evening. Meet Linda Massi about 9ish. Her room is around the cornor from ours. She's a trip. I think
we'll get along just fine. Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom, breakfast with Cindy. I'll try and get a report in the evening.
Day One
Day 1 - The Magic Kingdom
After getting good nights rest we awoke refreshed and ready for the Magic Kingdom. Had breakfast with Cinderella. The really treat you like royalty!
Also on hand to make things even more magical were Snow Whit, Mary Poppins, Belle & Aladdin. We all got a kick out of being called my lord and lady!
Anna didn't know where to look first. As soon as she saw Cinderella she ran over to her and gave her a great big hug. We got settled at our table and
then all the characters come to each table to visit. She has lots of autographs and photos. Towards the end of breakfast we notice flying by is
Peter Pan, chasing him is Captain Hook. Anna was beside herself with joy. Peter Pan is on of her favorite movies! After breakfast we made our way into
the magic, or should I say heat. I was way too hot for my liking, very very humid! We went on some rides and then Anna spotted Alice in Wonderland and
the Mad Hatter, what a trip these two are. They were funny and getting all the kids to laugh and some parents too. We made the rounds to most rides. No
waiting time at all. The longest I think we waited was 10 minutes, never took advantage of Fast Pass, no need to. Sitting in Tomorroland, try to cool
off and what should appear? The talking, walking trash can. We were all hysterical. Anna is in amazement by everything. She was pretty
uncomfortable with the heat too. Watched the parade at 3pm and of course like everything else, was magical. After that we went on Pirates of the
Caribbean, which scared the pants off. Anna, not to mention they had some technical difficulties and the ride stopped. After we left there went on a
few more rides and then headed back to the resort to get ready for dinner with Mickey. When we arrived back to our room, Mousekeeping had a little
surprise for Anna; all her dolls were sitting on a chair by the window waiting for her to return. It was cute and she got a big kick out of it.
After 1 bus trip and 2 monorail rides later we arrived at the Contemporary Resort for dinner at Chef Mickeys. Oh, by the way, Anna (we all did) got to
ride up with the conductor, not once but twice. She thinks she hot stuff for that! I have to admit; it was pretty cool driving up front! Anyway, on with
dinner. We arrive and they take a family picture of you and of course you buy it where you like it or not! Anna didn't know where to look first, her
head was spinning all over that at one point I thought it was gonna fall off! All the character come to your table. We had Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale.
Goffy and Donald Duck were in the lobby. Anna was just in amazement, again. They really make you feel special. When Mickey came by the table you would
have thought the President arrived. She even gave him a kiss from Grandma and told him so. Food was bad either; boy you can eat yourself silly in this
place! Starting next Monday, eating lean!! Left Chef Mickey's and wondered around the resort for a bit, it was raining like crazy outside. Did a little
shopping and started our little journey back to the resort.
All in all, it wasn't a bad day, just way too hot. I hope the weather today at Epcot is better. We now have to plan another trip sometime this week back
to the Magic Kingdom to finish up some rides. Gotta go and hope in the shower. Chat with you all later.
Day 2 9/17 - Epcot
Weather - HH!!
Now, don't get me wrong. Epcot was great but after visiting all the country's I was exhausted. I enjoyed Mexico the best. Thought the little
boat ride was great. Anna (who's 5) had no interest in watching movies about other countries. Anna met a lot of characters while there. Snow White &
Happy, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, the list is endless! Everyone was there, except Daisy. Again, after many, many pictures we continued on our
journey. Did all the rides and then left about 6pm to head back to the resort to shower. Took the bus back to Epcot to watch the parade and
fireworks and wouldn't ya know it, it started rain on our way. They canceled the parade, but we saw the fireworks (which were beautiful). Again, Anna
fell a sleep, Willy carried her all over and we left Epcot. Got back to resort, ordered pizza and waiting for my brother to arrive from Atlanta. He
flew in to spend Wednesday at MGM with us.
Day 3 - 9/18 - MGM Studios
With my brother Peter in tow we headed to MGM. Had a great time! Willy had his roller coaster buddy with him. While they did TOT and Rock & Roll Roller
Coaster, Anna and I watched Playhouse Disney. The show was great. Anna enjoyed it a lot. She's a big fan of Bear and Stanley. After Playhouse, we
headed over to the Little Mermaid show. It was cute, Anna got a kick out of it (she's getting a lot of kicks on this trip). Anyway, we had PS for
Hollywood & Vine with Minnie. Again, all you can eat buffet. Food was very good. Ate until we couldn't eat anymore! Had a fantastic time with Minnie,
who was very fond of my brother and Goofy who I did the tango with. Found Mike and Sully (boy they were hard to find). We kept tapping on the garage
door and someone would tap back at us. Finally after sitting there for a bit they opened the door. We all got our pictures take with them. Did the Great
Movie Ride, which I enjoyed and left for the day. Peter took off for the airport and we got ready for the MFL meet.
We had to meet Linda Masi at Beaches & Cream for the Illuminations cruise. Here's where the fun begins! Let me just say that thank God I meet Linda on
Sunday night. They were going to be at Beaches & Cream until 8pm and then head to the dock to catch the pontoon boat. We got to Beaches & Cream just a
few minutes after 8pm and they were gone already. We spoke to one of the guys working the door, told him what we were doing that evening and gave us
directions to the dock. Unfortunately, directions to the wrong dock! We were devastated. My daughter had fallen asleep on the bus on the way over
from our hotel. Willy was exhausted from carrying 43 lbs. of limp child all around the lake area. We were about ready to just give up and watch the
fireworks from the bridge, disappointed that we missed out on our plans. Then, we spoke to one of the guys working on the dock who said "in a while
the pontoon boats will be coming down the lagoon, if you spot your party we can stop the boat, just yell out there names, we'll shuttle you over to the
boat if necessary." Great idea! Thank goodness I meet Linda before hand. A boat finally floated past us and sure enough it was Linda and crew. I have
the good fortune of being blessed with a loud mouth. I shouted her name from the shore and we all waved our arms like lunatics. Linda was laughing her
head off while the boat came about to pick up my family. After explaining to everyone what happened we all got a big laugh out of it.
I got to meet Kim, Stacy and Derek, Bianca, Paul and his wife (sorry, I don't remember her name), we docked and watched the fireworks. What a beautiful
sight from the lagoon! If you have the opportunity, do the cruise I highly recommend it. After the fireworks we headed back to the dock (the right
dock), had our picture taken and sat and chatted for a while. What a nice group of people. I had a great time meeting everyone. Sorry I missed the
meet at Beaches & Cream, but we all finally hooked up and the evening turned out nice. If you have plans to meet someone to have an alternate meeting spot
in case you run late. After that we headed back to the resort showered and bed. Next day AK.
Day 4 - 9/19 - Animal Kingdom
AK was fun. I loved the Kilimanjaro Safari and the Lion King show. I didn't go see It's Tough To Be A Bug. I am not a fan of bugs. As a matter of fact
I HATE bugs. I would be itchy all day if I watched it, plus I heard there were roaches in it and I can't even look at one. I'm getting the creeps just
typing the name! DH & DD (who left the theater after 5 minutes screaming her head off) called me a big baby for now wanting to go and see it. They have
that new swirling ride in Dinoland (I forget the name of it). It was fun, but tossed you around like a salad! I was actually hurting after I got off
the ride. Anna was too small for it (thank God) so she stayed with DH while I rode it. I rode it twice! I didn't get punished enough the first time. We
did a few more things and left the park at closing time. I'm sorry I missed the Tarzan show. AK was not really one of my favorite parks, but hey, that's
just my option.
Day 5 - 9/20 - Back to MK
Weather - HH!! (did I mention it was hot and humid)?
This time a MK we had a blast! We actually stayed on our schedule. Got to see everything we wanted to see on Monday, but missed. Anna got picked to be
in Belle's story in Fairytale Garden. She was Mrs. Potts. She was so excited! And so were we! Afterwards she got her picture taken with Belle
and we headed off to lunch at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. Enjoyable, after a while I wanted to shoot the space singer, but he was cute! Again, Anna got
a kick out of it, so who am I to complain! OK, now back on schedule, we got through all the lands in record time. We ended a wonderful day watching the
show at Cinderella's castle. I will admit, while video taping the show I started to get misty eyed. I really didn't want this vacation to end.
Everywhere you go it's so magical. We were strolling down Liberty Square and one of the CM came over to Anna and sprinkled tiny Mickey ears on her,
everywhere you go they called her Princess. The cast really goes out of their way for you. All in all it was a great trip. I can't wait to get back
(in the winter this time, did I mention it was hot? lol).
And I want to thank all of you on the MFL list. Without you're help I couldn't have planned a better vacation. Each and every one of you were very
helpful in answering all my questions no matter how stupid they were. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
