Trip Report for Tammy N and Family

Location: Belz Factory Outlet, Contempoary, and Downtown Disney

Guests: Tammy N & Family

Weather: Hot / Rainy

Well our day didn't start very well. Duke and my Dad checked all the fluids in the car and everything was low. We had to stop at Auto Zone to buy some brake fluid and boy was that a mistake. Duke was wearing his Donald Duck through the years shirt for the first time that we got him for Father's Day. When he went into Auto Zone, he picked up a bottle and it went all over his brand new, wear for the first time, white shirt. He was hot. But what made it even worse was they were laughing at him. The guy said "I spill it all the time on me and do you see any stains"? Yes, Duke said his shirt was covered in stains and told him so. They just thought Duke was the joke of the day and laughed. He was steaming when he came out.

Back to the house to change. I put stain sick on it. I pray it comes out. Back to the road, and it was 1:00 and me and Britnee hadn't eaten. We had planned to eat at Mickey D's on IDrive but we were hungry now. So we went to our local McDonald's and ate. Britnee got to play in the tubes for a little bit, so we had a chance to cool off in more ways than one. Duke was still fuming from the incident and the car we drive doesn't have AC. Finally headed toward Orlando.

Ran into some rain on I4 but it stopped as quickly as it started. Made our way to Belz and hit Character Premier. The purpose of this trip was to buy all of the things I needed for Britnee's birthday. I got all that I was looking for.

Blizzard Beach tee $3.99 Mickey and Friends rolling luggage $15.99

I also bought myself a pin of the California Grill at the Contemporary, it was marked down to $2.99. We looked at the Bible Factory Outlet and they were having a huge sale. Book on prophecy $2.88 Pink baby Bible $2.88 Bibleman tee $3.88

Then is was on to Mall 2. Went into Toy Liquidators then Character Warehouse.

Disney Pen $2.50 Mickey necklace $1.99 Simba and Nala pin $3.99

Now by this time I had told Duke that we weren't going to Downtown Disney because it was getting late and we were out of money. But when we struck up a conversation with a CM in this store, she told us we could go to the Contemporary and get a map. We then had to go around to the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. Then we would get a free Chip and Dale pin for getting our map stamped. We had until 10:00pm to do this. So that changed my mind, if though I knew they probably were out of pins.

Next we went next door so Duke and me could eat. He got a philly steak sub and I got a slice of pizza. Britnee wasn't hungry so she ate a cookie. She then rode the carousel twice while we ate.

On to Downtown Disney. We parked front row at the toy store end. Went to the busses and waited maybe 3 minutes for the bus to the Contemporary. Now it was about 8:00pm. Got there and was overwhelmed (yet again). This is my dream hotel to stay in and I will one day! We had only been on the 4th floor. Well the bus lets you off on the lobby level. Something I had never seen. Beautiful, amazing, wow! We head to the 4th floor in the elevator, it talked, how cute! Oh and they have a revolving door.. I had never done that before. Me and Britnee were excited about a door! Go figure.

Well I was told I had been misinformed. We had to be there earlier in the day to get a map, and we had UNTIL 10:00pm to turn it in. They had given all the maps out by 3:00pm.

So then I asked how to get to the 15th floor observation deck, that I was told you go there and look out. He told me I had been misinformed again. That ONLY guest who were eating at the restaurant could use that one. I asked if there was another one and he said yes, right there in the corner, and pointed it out. We went outside and what a beautiful view! Straight clear shot of the castle. Made the blackout on the annual passes seem even sadder :o( We were the only people out there. Britnee then told us she wanted to come there for her birthday and watch the fireworks. Duke told her we had something much bigger than that planned. And besides I told her, on her birthday, we won't have a blackout.

Then into the gift shop to buy 2 postcards for Britnee's room. (She has Disney babies border and we are covering it with Walt Disney World postcards. It looks really good so far, but we are so far away from having it covered)

Now Britnee had announced she was hungry. So we went to the Food and Fun Center. Never been there and it was noisy. Out last $6.00 went to a grilled cheese kids meal. Seen the refillable mugs and they had a sign that said "These mugs are refillable and good for your length of stay only". No bar code on them though. The sippy cup that Britnee got with the meal, the CM told her she could use it as long as she was staying. (Too bad we weren't staying)

They have a TV in the dining room and they were showing Toon Disney. Pepper Ann was on. Am I the only one that has a different fell when you watch something Disney at Disney compared to watching it at home?

Time to go home and we take the escalators down to the lobby level and the bus was letting people off and picking them up for Downtown. Great timing again. The most awesome sight was next. We stopped at the Polynesian for drop off / pick up then onto the Grand Floridian. As pulled onto Grand Floridian property there was the Cinderella coach with a bride and groom. It was all lit up. We followed it for a long time, since it doesn't go as fast as the bus. We had one of those squeaky brakes bus and Duke said "I bet they are sitting in there listening to the brakes and thinking, this isn't what I expected". Oh, I want a one! I got a tear in my eye. How sweet that is! I'll have that too one day.

On the way back got to talking with a couple from Ohio about pins. Said they had about 23,000 of them. Talked about the Disney cruise also.

All in all it was a good day, just wished I could have gotten the pin. I did ask to see it and told the CM about what they told him and he said he was sorry and that they ran out of maps around 3:00pm.
