Tracey & Family's WDW Trip

We had a great time on our trip. The cast of characters were my DH, My two DS's (2 and 5) and my parents and of course, myself. We stayed at the POFQ and went to MK and MGM.

The first day we arrived we checked in and then drove over to the Contemp. for a character dinner at Chef Mickey's. We had fun at the dinner. Lots of character interaction and the food was good. My boys really enjoyed all of the characters and the make your own cupcake station. We then tried to take the monorail over to the Poly to watch the water pageant but the monorail train ahead of us caused a long delay. We all had to exit the monorail after waiting for about 10 min. at the contemp. station. We then tried to find info. about taking a boat over...got wrong directions. At this time, the pageant was to start in a short time and the monorail started working but during this 45 min. time period my 2 yr. old decided he had had enough. So, we just went on back to the resort.

The next morning we got up early for our character breakfast at Tony's. We drove in and took the monorail to MK. The character breakfast was so much fun. Great character interaction and the food was fairly good. The eggs could have been better and the potatoes were a bit hard. Nobody was complaining though we were all so happy to be in the MK. It was really cool to go inside the park before the opening of the day. After breakfast we all purchased our mickey ears at Le Chapeau (sp?) and headed on down Main Street. We went to Fantasyland first and we were amazed on how we walked on right away to Peter Pan, Small World and Dumbo. It was great! We got a fast pass for Pooh and visited the characters across the street and the character meet and greet...Jafar, cruella etc. Then got right onto Pooh and went over to the Haunted Mansion..no wait. After that got onto the steamboat and stopped for lunch at the Col. Harbour House. The fish and chips were tasty and not greasy.

We all then decided to take a break at the hotel. We enjoyed the pool very much. We ate dinner at the food court and all thought it was good and reasonable. My sons especially liked the indiv. pizzas. At this point, we had intended on going to MK but we were all getting worn out and my littlest one fell and skinned his lip pretty bad so we just took a breath and decided to take the boat over to Riverside and walk around. Good choice...it was so relaxing. We got smoothies at Muddy Rivers and enjoyed taking a stroll around and then to the boat back.

We got up and had breakfast at the food court. Very good Mickey waffles. And took the bus to MGM. No wait at all the bus pulled up when we got to the stop. We walked over to Indiana Jones and it was just about to start and walked right in and found seats right away. We all thought this show was fabulous. Next stop was to get fast passes for Star Tours. My DH, dad and 5 yr. old did this ride. While we were waiting for their time we walked right into the Muppets. This was so much fun. My boys really enjoyed it. Then back to Star Tours. My mom and I took my little one over to get drinks for us all and then we all waited in line to see Buzz and Woody. This was the longest wait...about 20 min. Not bad at all. My DS (5) really got a kick out of meeting them. On to lunch at Pizza Planet...good pizza and took a walk around the arcade after lunch. We then looked around the NY street and over to see Pluto and fast passes for Little Mermaid. We were trying to see both Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney but by the time Little Mermaid was over by 2 yr. was ready to call it an afternoon. I wish we would have seen Playhouse and skipped the mermaid show if we could have only done one. Oh well, next time.

We had some cousins drive up from So. Fla. to meet us for the rest of the trip and we went back to the hotel to find them checking in. That evening we ate at the Cape May Buffet. We all thought the food was good. The clams could have been larger. They did not do a good job with clearing plates away. We had to keep stacking the plates. After dinner took the boat over to the Boardwalk. The evening had a nice breeze and we all rented surrey bikes. This was FUN! WE did see some fireworks and then all drove back to the hotel.

We got up and ate breakfast in the food court. Then took the bus to MK. We started in Tommorrowland. Fast passes for Buzz. Then did the Car. of Progress...love this show. Took the Tram around the land and then on to Buzz. The older kids and my dad and DH fast passes for Space Mt. then while we waited for their time they all did the speedway cars. The line was about 25 min. or so. They did Space Mt. and then off to Adventureland. Started with Aladdin, then Tiki Birds both no lines. Fast passes for Jungle Cruise. We ate at Pecos Bills --OK food...topping bar was depleted and took awhile for them to replenish. We also felt the tables were kinda dirty. Walked over and went right in to Pirates and then did the Jungle Cruise. At this point, we left the cousins and headed back for a break at the hotel the crowds were starting to pick up.

That evening took the busses back to the MK and walked into Hall of Pres. and then scooted over to Snow White and then lined up for Spectromagic. The parade was wonderful. Right after the parade went over to Toontown and walked around Minnie's house while the cousins did the barnstormer. Afterwards the fireworks were getting ready to start so we took a few pictures at the Sword in the Stone. Watched the fireworks and then right out to the bus. We did have to stand this time but was happy to get on a bus right away. Wished we could have walked through the castle but everytime we tried it was closed due to the Cinderella show and wished we would have gone on the train. For our first visit as a family we all thought it was great.

That was the trip. It was not only my sons first time but also my parents...they loved it!! We are already planning the next trip in 2004.
