Fox Family - July 2004

Day 1 - July 1

Arrived late Thursday night and checked into Pop Century. We loved the hotel and the theming and spend a better part of our trip saying, "OH, I had one of those!!" to each other. Check in was slow even thought it was midnight. Once we made it to our room in the 70's we called it a night.

Day 2 - July 2

Friday - Slept in late. Headed to Epcot after having breakfast at the hotel. Had to stop at Guest Relations to order the 4-Day park hopper I ordered on the internet. While there we made reservations for the Aqua Seas tour, we were in luck because I called every day before our departure and it was booked solid. Epcot was empty! We rode Mission Space and Test Track with no wait. Walked around the World Showcase starting with Mexico where we each stopped for a Margarita. We underestimated the lack of breakfast and both had to sit down by the time we reached the American Pavilion. We figured we needed some bread and made out way to Canada for lunch at Le Cellier. It was fabulous as usual. We left Epcot by boat for MGM. MGM was crowded and we shopped instead of waiting in lines. Went back to Pop Century for a quick swim before our PS at Whispering Canyon and E-Ride. Got to the MK in time for the Spectromagic parade. We sat in Frontierland to people watch at the very end of the parade route. Literally the last 2 seats of the parade route. 20 minutes before the parade start a family parked their 5 strollers next to us and then spotted the rest of their party who came over and squeezed in. We took our places, they decided that since we weren't going to give up our seats they were going to go beyond the rope. That worked only until a CM told them to move. They smoked, kicked us in the back and dripped all over us during the parade. We couldn't run fast enough after the parade to get away from them. E-ride was fun, we almost rode everything and called it a night at midnight.

Day 3 - July 3

Saturday - Slept in later. Went back to Epcot after breakfast in the room. We had to check in at Guest Relations at 12 noon for the Aqua Seas tour. There were only 6 of us on the tour, 5 people didn't show!! We had a shout tour, watched a movie about the gear then went to change. After changing we all walked through the guest areas to the spiral staircase that would take us up to the platform. We swam for about 40 minutes. It was awesome. After everyone changed and showered we were given a t-shirt and photo. The CM even let us out in the park. Don't count on this because it depends on the CM. We left and went to Downtown Disney. Had lunch at the Earl of Sandwich and did some light shopping. After dropping off the car and our purchases at the hotel we went back to MGM to ride RNRC and ToT. I love those rides. Thanks to an informative CM we got PS for Jiko. Picked up the car and drove to AK Lodge for dinner.

Day 4 - July 4

Sunday - Got up early. We were spending the whole day at Magic Kingdom for the 4th. I wanted to make sure we made it into the park in case it reached capacity. We strolled around, rode rides and people watched the whole day. It was very relaxing. Found the BEST couches at Tony's waiting room on Main Street, my husband even took a short cat nap. Even saw the parade from 2 very comfortable rocking chairs behind the Hall of Presidents. Had hot dogs at Casey's then started to look for a place to sit for the fireworks. It had rained every day and today was no different. We and others would find a perfect place then get run off by the rain. This repeated late afternoon a few times. We found a bench on the side of the Castle at the entrance to the Rose Garden. We sat and people watched some more. The fireworks were awesome and the music brought tears to my eyes. It couldn't have been better.
