Left 8:24 AM, very early for me! Arrived MGM parking lot at 10:06. Crowded! Aren't these students ever going back to class???
Took 105 pictures! Am working on them and they will be available later.
Started with the idea to go to MGM to get my free AP gift, a very nice collectable coin featuring Mickey and Minnie in honor of MGM's 15th anniversary. It comes mounted and sealed in a vinyl envelope.
However, upon waking this morning, had the thought that I wanted to try to get a picture from the elevator, looking out of Tower of terror, when those darn doors opened! So, I headed right to TOT after
picking up my AP gift. Stopped by Rock and Roller Coaster to grab a fast pass, which had only about a 45 minute delay time: not as
crowded as the lot made it look! Went into line for TOT, and had a great ride! Had several very "into it" people in the car and I was
on the aisle seat, second row. It was the real good run- the one that drops you the instant you get in! Then rips you up and down again and
again, until you think it is over, then one more just for fun! LOL! Whole car applauded. Great ride doesn't always make for a great photo
op: but you can see the back side of the "ylloH" sign...
After that rode R&R coaster with no wait, front row, and the lighting was different. None of them were on until you hit them! Made a lot of difference! Not as pretty, but much more effective at messing you up!
Next, I headed to the Animation Academy for a couple of refresher courses! First one was by my favorite instructor- Issaic. He has a slightly different take on things *and* gave us a great little trick
he uses to make eyes more effective. The second and third sessions were not so good- uninterested instructor, and an unruly audience. One guy was talking quite clearly the whole time and even turned on his kids music machine! Unbeleivable!
Went out to van and headed out to off-property McDonalds for a grilled chicken salad, and a nap. Then searched for, and found, a back road back into Disney- comes in behind Animal Kingdom. Once I
got on it and around the bend, I recognized it as a place I had been on an earlier visit from the other direction. It is the road the runs
to/from the Interns housing complex, and the employees close out sales center!
Headed over to Epcot, and the lot there was also crowded- that Flower and Garden festival really brings them in! And rightly so! Beautiful!
And it was one of the main purposes of my visit, to shoot the show! Did so, after riding Space, lots of great shots, and at the end of
the day, attended the first show of Orleans, the band playing this night. They did a good job, and with good reason: they are working
during the day on their first studio album since 95!
Got a few more pictures after the concert, then tired, headed out to my van and home. Home at about 9:30.
Now to arrange all those pictures and get them up...
