Isabel - March 2005

Friday, March 18th
Cast: me (20), my boyfriend Rudy (19), friend Gianni (21), his girlfriend Christine (21)
I left work at 1:30, got home, and packed. We were only going four 2 days so I didnt really need that much. We were all going to meet at Rudy's house at 2:30 to leave by 3, so we could arrive at POFQ by 7. We all run an hour late. Rudy didnt leave work until 4, and Gianni didnt come pick me up until 3:15. O well. The car trip there was uneventful. We watched "the incredibles" dvd and drove through about 2 hours of pure traffic. We arrived at POFQ at 9:50. Rudy went and checked in, while Christine and I checked out the gift store. When he was done, I dragged him in the gift store and showed him pal mickey. He is a computer nut, so he wanted it too. We split the cost and took him to our hotel room. (Lots of funny stories about that coming soon). It was reeeeally cold outside. I was wearing a short sleeved shirt, as was the rest of the group, and I had left my jacket in Miami. Rudy wanted to go 2 DTD, even though it was FREEZING, and he wanted to take the little boat on property that takes you there. We were all starving, and he said we could eat something quick there and do some shopping. Christine and Gianni wanted two eat pizza at the hotel, but Rudy told them they could eat pizza over there, and that it would be fun. Little did we know that we boarded the WRONG boat, which took us over to Riverside. I think gianni wanted to throw Rudy off the boat lol. After a lot of coaxing, Rudy gave up and we rode the boat back to FQ, and ate at the food court. Our boat driver was super nice. He gave us towels to cover ourselves with and talked to us until we got back. At the food court, we all ordered non-meat items and these wonderful creations called beignets (sp?). mmmmmmm They were really really good, like obsession good lol. We finished our meal and headed for our hotel room. It was a smoking room, and it smelled a little bad at first, but I guess we just got used to it. I opened the pal mickey box, and Rudy and Gianni grabbed it to examine it. The whole thing is full of wires. Gianni concluded that it was a device sent by Disney in order to spy on us and what not. The whole night they would hide it in spots and wait for the other to find it. Gianni put it in the room safe, and as soon as i got out of the shower i saw it there and freaked. Then rudy took it, waited for everyone to get in bed and turn the lights off, and put it right next to giannis bed on the night stand. we all went to sleep, and set the alarms early for the next morning, when we would be doing our segway tour!

Saturday, March 19 EPCOT
We woke up at 6:45. Rudy had put pal mickey on the nightstand, sitting on top of Giannis wallet. so that started a pillow war, which lasted a little while. We ate at the hotel again. I had the croissant sandwhich which was suuuper good. We were so enthralled with the food, that we didnt notice the time. It was getting late, and we had two be in the park by 8:15. We were going 2 take the buses to Epcot, but it was FREEZING and no one wanted to wait for the buses to come. Gianni drove us over there, and we parked in the first row of parking, something which I have never done before! As soon as we walked through the turnstiles, Mickey went crazy telling us stuff about Epcot, which led to Rudy and Gianni freaking out and looking around for sensors, which they did not find. We headed for guest relations and met up with the rest of our segway tour group. It was well worth the money. We had sooo much fun! At first I was a little nervous, as I'm not the most coordinated person in the world, but it was so easy to drive! After learning how to manuever it, we drove out to the world showcase. Noone else was there, so it was really fun! After that, we headed over to test track, and got fast passes. While we waited for our time, we went over to mission space. Christine opted out, and I figured I'd ride it, how bad could it be?? bla. It was horrible. The ride was ok, but the feeling was horrible. I'll never ride that ever again. We went to innovations, and Rudy and Gianni went off to look at all the tech stuff while Christine and I played around the area. They had alot of interesting stuff to see. After that we headed to test track. That was really fun too. Rudy wanted to go see the igloo that gives free drinks, and he wouldnt stop bothering us until we got there, so we all went. Some of the drinks (like the one from italy) were really untasty. My favorite was the japanese drink. We decided to split up for lunch. Rudy and I headed to japan for some sushi, and Christine and Gianni went to America for some chicken strips. Mickey kept going off and telling us jokes and stuff, and even I started to wonder how it worked. After lunch, we met up again and rode Space Ship Earth, which only stopped once while we were in Egypt. We also rode Imagination and HISTA. We saw turtle talk at the living seas which was pretty impressive. When that was over, we headed towards the world showcase. The mexico ride was very very unimpressive and kind of stupid. It was like a big tourist thing, with no history of mexico at all. We were all very disappointed in it. The maelstrom was kind of cool, but also no big deal. We shopped around each country, and I bought an umbrella in china for my sister with her name on it in chinese. It was funny, because none of the countries we were from were represented in the world showcase (cuba, spain, venezuela). I understand not having cuba there, cuz its really little, but spain? It is the mother country!!

Sunday March 20 - Magic Kingdom
We woke up early, and had another pillow fight. We packed up our stuff, and put on our sweaters. I forgot to mention that Rudy and I bought 50 dollar sweaters because we had been freezing yesterday. We drove out to the park, and parked once again in one of the first rows. we headed over to crystal palace for our breakfast. Wow, the food was sooo good.. and Winnie the Pooh and friends were there two! It was the perfect start to a great day. We headed over to tomorrowland, and rode Stitch'ss Great Escape. I like Alien Encounters much better, and the chili dog smell was way gross. While Christine and I stood in line for Buzz Lightyear, Rudy and Gianni went to get fast passes for Space Mountain. Unfortunately, Rudy beat me at buzz lightyear (grrr). We rode the people mover ride, and had some stupid kids sitting behind us that kept screaming and stuff. I guess they were just excited. after that, we ran over to Fantasyland and rode Its a Small World. It had just opened the day before, and there were still alot of bugs to be worked out of it. Some of the dolls that were supposed to be moving weren't, and some that were supposed to be moving their lips weren't. I didn't notice much of a change from the last time I rode it though. We got fast passes for Philharmagic and rode Space Mountain. Christine didn't want to do it at first, but we convicned her to and she had a blast. We went and rode Pirates of the Caribbean, and ate lunch at El Pirate y El Perico. The food there was excellent as well. It was reallly hot by then and Rudy and I felt stupid about buying sweaters the day before. O well. Mickey's Philharmagic was incredible. the best 3D show I have ever seen. By this time the park was really really full, and the lines were an hour long at least. We got fast passes for Splash Mountain, and took the train to Toontown. We walked back towards Fantasyland and rode Snow White, which wasn't very scary lol. We ran back to Frontierland and grabbed fast passes for Thunder Mountain. then we walked over to the Haunted Mansion and waited a mere 35 minutes in sweltering heat lol. It wasnt too bad, as we all agreed we'd rather be sweating than freezing. After the Haunted Mansion, we went on Splash Mountain. I HATE splash mountain. Rudy made me go on it, and I had a panic attack as we were going up towards the final drop. In the picture, you can see me screaming and crying on Rudy's chest, Rudy giving a thumbs up, Whristine was hiding in Giannis' lap, and Gianni was putting on a bored face. We headed over to Sleepy Hollow and had some funnel cakes, then went shopping. I bought some chocolates for my boss and a t shirt for my brother. We headed back to Frontierland and rode Thunder Mountain, then ran over to Cinderella's castle for dinner. It was sooo pretty. We sat by the window and got to watch wishes. We got to see where the fireworks took off and that was pretty neat. By now it was really late and we had a long drive home. We left the park just as it started to rain. Rudy and I fell asleep in the car, and the next thing I remember, I was home. I cant wait to go back!!! spacer
