Judy and Family - August 2005

Resort: Pop Century Resort - Room 6324

Cast of Characters: Judy, DS (14) Vincent, DD (9) Rebecca, and Hopitty (DD's trusted Bunny companion)

Highlights of trip: Getting to eat at new places - my DD had wonderful interaction with Chip and Dale at a few restaurants and I think she is now Chip & Dale crazy - my son loved Summit Plummit although mom and sister were to terrified to try it, DS made it in the hot seat at Who Wants to be a Millionaire, he made it three questions away from the final question, so we came very close to winning a cruise, but he happily walked away with pins a hat and a shirt - Hoop De Doo Revue was a fun night and think something the kids will remember for a long time - DD had a blast at the Pirates Adventure and the Mad Hatter Tea Party at the Grand Floridian Resort - We all had a blast on the Family Magic Tour at Magic Kingdom.
But I think the best highlight of our trip (and this comes straight from DS) - was getting to meet Beccy and her family and visiting the village, my son was touched that not only did Beccy offer to give us a lift to the village for a tour, but that she also took time to take us to the outlet mall so we could check the place out since I do not drive, he thinks the village is the greatest place on earth and both kids have said that we have to go back to the village every time we go to Disney.

Lowlights of trip (which were so minor): DD getting sick and spending a day and half in the room, half way through the first day of her being sick (DS) who had been giving free rein for the morning came back to the hotel because he was also feeling sick, this was the day after Blizzard Beach, not sure if it is connected to the water park thing, but they were better the next day. DD did not want to go to sleep at night and therefore did not want to get up in the morning. Having to buy more luggage to get our stuff home.

Reviews for many things to follow. Two highest recommendations - Use SunRay Transportation - they are the best and TourGuideMike totally rocks. Although DD made it difficult to follow most of his advice, on the few occasions where we got to try stuff out he was right on the money, we will definitely be using his services on future trips. I am hoping to plan a visit for me and DS, so we can really test TGM out to the fullest.

Day 1 - August 22, 2005
Our flight headed out of JFK at 9:10 a.m. we had an uneventful morning getting ready for the plane and I used my company town car service to get to the airport. DD was apparently tired because she was too excited to sleep the night before and began to be cranky within minutes of getting in the car. These episodes would continue from time to time throughout the trip, this is why we sometimes refer to her as Cybil (not sure of spelling).
We arrived at MCO about 11:50 a.m. and headed to baggage (now for some reason the night before I had this bright idea of adding the Magical Express Luggage tags to my luggage). We get to the baggage carousel, we took the elevator, instead of the escalator so we did not see drivers with signs and since our flight was a few minutes early I thought nothing of it. Finally after not seeing any luggage with yellow tags I asked someone and they said if the tags are on the bags the bags go straight from the hotel from the back and never come out on the carousel. Okay (hoping our luggage is not lost), we turn our attention to finding our driver (Sunray - Roger). We looked around and I finally called Sunray because we were kind of lost and not sure we were supposed to meet him. We must have walked past him. We met up and he was very understanding and patient. We had a grocery stop at Publix and the best investment of the trip was a $3.99 Styrofoam cooler.
Checked in and tied to get a room closer to the pool and food court. When I asked to upgrade to Preferred I was talked out of spending the extra money, and put in I believe the 90s section, which we asked to be switched out of because it was too far from the food court for our taste. We were then placed in the 70s section and we were around the corner from the food court and Hippy Dippy Pool, but on the third floor. We had already retrieved our rental fridge from luggage (A Baby's Best Friend) had delivered it on time as promised. But our luggage had not arrived yet. So we went to the room and tried to get settled in. The luggage took about another hour and at that point the kids were able to change into their suits and swim for about a half hour and we headed MK for the boat to HDDR. The kids loved it review to come. This meal would have cost us $125.85 for 2 adults and 1 child and was free since we used 2 TS meals on our dining plan (which was also free). We were seated on the second level.
Note if you do not think you will buy the photo do not take it. They sell them while you are eating. I knew I wanted the photo and took it ($26.75 and I received 2 5x7s, 1 magnet, 1 keychain with photo on both sides and 2 more wallets.
After the meal we took the boat to MK and since the park was still open we upgraded our 1 day base tickets to PAPs and slipped into MK to see if we could catch one ride, due to the crowds for wishes we did not make it to Buzz in time. Then we headed for the buses. My DD brought some stuff in Everything Pop. Kids slept and mom organized all the stuff we packed.

Day 2 - August 23, 2005
Today was supposed to be our early start, set wake up call for 7:03 a.m. hoping to be at the bus by 8:15 a.m. latest. Phone rang and I put on the speakerphone which was barely audible, apparently this is also as loud as it goes and I tried everything to fix it. Neither DD or DS wanted to get up. I finally turned on the TV and DS is now itching to rush to the park for opening. Convinced DD who was now hungry that we would eat at the park. We had a 10:25 a.m. ADR for CP (2 adults & 1 child $55.86). We were at the bus by 9 a.m. and in MK by 9:30 a.m. Went straight to Buzz to ride and walked right on and we then walked on a second time. The 2nd time took awhile since the ride stopped a few times. My DD had the funniest comment about the zipper on the back of pooh "Pooh must have gained weight his shirt is small, see the zipper on the back". We then headed to CP to check in by 10:15 a.m. My son went to get FP for BTMRR and met us back at CP were we had a great breakfast. My DD was anxious to see Piglet and me DS had a laugh over Steve C's remark over checking to see if he was done by poking him with a fork. There was a B-day parade our waitress was awesome and we enjoyed the food. It was hot and DD decided she did not want to ride BTMRR so we decided to get FP for Jungle Cruise and walked into Tiki Birds. The kids got a kick out of this since it our 1st time. Come out and DD just wanted out of the park so I told DS he could use the 3 FPs for BTMRR and I headed to Guest Services to fix a problem with our new PAPs. The night before the girl mixed up the names and ages so I had the kids passes redone. Headed for the buses and my cell rang it was DS apparently getting on BTMRR so soon after Breakfast was a bad idea he was heading back (before leaving he gave the two remaining FP to someone on line) but missed the bus I took with DD and met us at the room changed to swim put on sunblock again and went for a dip. I noticed I was getting red and so was DS so we got out. I brought a different sub block than usual and this brand was thicker and pastier and hard to spread. I brought another bottle in the gift shop the next day.
We dressed and headed back to MK to catch a ride or two. DS insisted he knew the way to Jungle Cruise and got us lost. We rode Pirates and then headed for the monorail. Me and DD rode up front with the driver. DD was excited about the co-pilot license and was convinced that she could drive the monorail. The kids tried to get up front on our way back to MK after Chef Mickey (2 adults & 1 child $80.16). The kids thoroughly enjoyed the food and the characters, chip and dale were great. When I came back from getting food Chip was playing with my DD she had a necklace like the glow in the dark type except it work from batteries and Chip marveled how it turned on and off (which he pretended he did not know how to do) DD was thrilled. I got this on tape. We headed back to MK and used FPs from earlier for Splash Mountain this was great at night. Watched the end of wishes and headed back to Pop picked up our mugs (3 mugs $38.31) and headed to get rest.
Before MK DD insisted on getting the new Pal Mickey, the novelty wore off quickly, since she did not want to carry it. Got a great photo at Chef Mickey again if you are not planning to buy the photo, pass it by. It is sold while you are eating. They should photo pass these as well. We never used the Jungle Cruise FPs.

Day 3 - August 24, 2005
Today we slept in and did DisneyQuest and shopping at DTD. We arrived at DQ at 11:30 a.m.
I can not recall the order in which we rode things, but I jotted notes on my map.
Invasion an ExtraTerrorestrial Alien Encounter, me and DD rode this alone and than DS joined us to ride it two more times. Ride the Comix, we all rode this once. Buzz Lightyear we all rode it once and then DD and DS rode it three more times alone. Aladdins Magic Carpet Ride me and DD rode this while DS explored alone. Cyberspace Mountain DS rode this once and me and DD rode it three times. Virtual Jungle Cruise this was another ride me and DD did while DS was exploring. Pirates of the Caribbean another ride we did once without DS. We all we measured by the Genie, which was cute. (NOTE for adults traveling with children), get the measured when you arrive, so they can get a band which lets the CMs know if they are tall enough just from looking at the band.
We had such a great time on Cyberspace that we purchased the DVD for $12.00. I am sure that DD will watch it a lot.
DD also got a stitch build a cup at Goofy's Candy Shop
We ate Cheesecake Factory Express for lunch which was nice and quick (and used the dining plan).
We also at Earl of Sandwich and were disappointed with our food and the service was pretty bad. I wanted to pay for DD meal and not use the meal for it and we were overcharged and I had to ask for a refund, which I got.

Day 4 - August 25, 2005
Today my DD had her Pirate Cruise ($30.01) and she did not want to get up for it. Had to fight tooth and nail to get her out of bed and we somehow managed to get there on time. Me and DS enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast in the Grand Floridian Café.
DD had blast on the Pirate Cruise, it was worth every penny.
After this we headed off to MGM: Jotted numbers next to attractions as we did them.
1 - Rented locker($7 with deposit of $2 returned later on) and got 3 bottles of water
2 - Got 2 Popcorns for me and DD Vincent got FP for TOT & RRC for himself
3 - Saw Beauty and the Beast which was great
4 - Star Tours me and DD while DS used his fast passes
5 - Got FP for Indiana Jones and ended up not using them
6 - Honey I shrunk the kids playground started to rain so we left
7 - Muppets 3d
8 - Sci-Fi for dinner took some photos on the way
9 - Who Wants to be a Millionaire
10 - Lights Motor Action
11 - Ended the night with Fantasmic
The kids had a blast at who wants to be a millionaire. The host was fabulous. When the camera focuses on people in the audience they tend to wave and smile, and every time they did, the host made a funny face and a funny comment (all good humor). Near the end of the show the camera zoomed in on two girls and you could see that they were not sure what to do, because they were waiting for the hosts reactions and one of the girls said (Oh Sh__.) The host placed his hand over his mouth in shock and gasped and than laughed and said ("I read your lips and that was not a Disney word" and then he said "Oh Poop". Everyone was cracking up. I think the girl turned four shades of red. We loved this last year and found this host to be the best one. The kids have been repeating those same words since. "I read your lips and that was not a Disney word".
Went back to the hotel to swim, kids had to leave pool when it was closed due to someone someone using the pool as a bathroom. I had only been soaking my feet since I was cold. Both kids took a shower back at the room and were bummed that someone had done this.

Day 5 - August 26, 2005
Start day with Breakfast in room. Head to GF, took bus to MK than to boat to GF. DS went to Epcot to get FP for Soarin, and met me at GF for where we had a great lunch in the GF Café ($39.08 for DS and $15.30 for myself). Today DD took part in the Mad Hatter's Tea Party ($30.01). Which she thought was very cool. She talked about it lots. She was upset that we could not join her again for this. But I assured that we would be doing a big event together (Family Magic Tour in MK) on a later date.
We waited for bus for Epcot and then realized there is no bus running from GF to Epcot so we jumped on a bus to AK, we got some ice cream and really cute straps for our water bottles, watched the end of the parade and even video-taped some of it from a shaded area. Vincent was able to get rid of the last of our 2000 pins (before leaving for WDW, I got the bright idea to buy a bunch of the same pin for the same price about $2.00 a pin). Before leaving we passed by the World of Disney in NYC to pick up something to bring, since we were meeting other members from the board and wanted to give them a little something Disney from the NY store (we found magnets that said NYC World of Disney). While at WOD NYC we noticed they every CM had this pin on their lanyard and someone else on the board had mentioned they were not able to get rid of these pins while in Disney a week or two before we left. We thought for sure that we were going to have pin board filled with the same pins). DS managed to get rid of all 36 pins, and then we were able to do some serious trading. Although I was lucky this time, I do not think I would do this again. I think I will search for nicely prized lots of various pins. Pin trading is addictive. After the parade since it was getting late and the park would probably be closing soon, we decided to head over to Epcot and see what was going on there.
When we got to Epcot, we did what almost everyone does and hit Spaceship earth first. This was our first ride and it was a walk on. This is one of the rides where at different times of the day you can literally walk on, but there are times when the lines can be long. We never wait in a line for this ride. Next we rode test track, we got a FP and rode twice through the standby line (20 minutes with preshow) each time, rode again with FP and then got FP for mission Space. We then headed over to Soarin which we rode with FP and loved, after Soarin we headed back to Test track and rode this again two more times with FP and standby line and than used our FP for Mission Space.
After this we had dinner at Electric Umbrella ($30.90) we used three counter services and headed back to Pop.

Day 6 - August 27, 2005
Today we made it to the Food Court at 8:15 a.m. and had a quick breakfast at Everything Pop ($29.63), we used three counter service meals
DS had a danish, half pt of milk, and pancakes with milk, me and DD had French toast and 2 fruit cups, half a pt of milk and orange juice
We headed to MK and made it there between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m., not too bad, but still did not make the rope drop (maybe on our next trip).
We did the following attractions, Peter Pan's Flight (2x), Snow White, Dumbo, Many Adventures of Pooh, Mad Tea Party (2x), BTMRR, Buzz, the following were new rides (1st time) It's a Small World (2x), Jungle Cruise, Tomorrowland Speedway, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Carousel of Progress, Stitch
We stopped and had lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus ($28.77, this was 3 counter services for us).
After lunch we hit some more rides and rode BTMRR (3xs), Mickey's Philharmagic (2xs) and Buzz (2xs)
Somehow we ended up with extra FPs for Buzz and also one for Mickey's Philharmagic. Not sure how, but we never used these
We had dinner back at the resort in Everything Pop ($37.19) 3 counters services for us
Cheese Pizza, Half pt of milk, lunar cheese cake, meatball sub, pint of chocolate milk, string cheese, HD ice cream bar, cheesecake plain, large soda, dbl cheeseburger basket

Day 7 - August 28, 2005
This morning I had a breakfast planned for me and DD and DS was able to head out on his own and do his own thing for a few hours. I had to check out and check back in, and this took a little longer than I planned, so I had to grab a cab over to the Beach Club for make my ADR for Cape May, with tip this was $12.00 not too bad.
DD had been anxiously waiting having breakfast here, since this was the only buffet/character meal we did last year. While we were eating the child at the table next to us started to get sick and DD noticed it, I told her to turn her head and not look, I thought when the first bout finished the mother would move the child to a restroom. She did not, he then began bout two, and she still just sat there, she was attending him, rubbing his back, and attempting to clean it up with napkins, but she should have removed him from the table, since there were other adults to watch the other kids, after the fourth bout, she moved him to the other side of the table, we he began his 5th and 6th bout, at this point, I asked the closest waiters if I could be moved, I explained nicely that the child next to me was continually getting sick and I found it quite difficult to eat while this was going on, plus the area we were sitting at stunk by this point, she moved me a few tables away, needless to say, by this point my appetite was completely lost, but I was able to get DD (picky eater) to eat another waffle. If I had not been on the dining plan, I probably would have asked to not be charge, but since I was on the free dining plan, I just paid the bill and left (1 adult and 1 child $34.00 with tax/tip). The thing they got to me was when they were done eating they never once mentioned to their waitress that the child was getting sick and that they left the dirty napkins on the floor. Shortly before we left they sat a family in another table that was empty by this area, I doubt they had a good meal with the smell.
Me and DD walked over to Epcot, where we got FP for Soarin (DD loves this ride), we then watched Circle of Life and the Junior Chef cookie thing, which DD did not want to do, because she was upset, when then rode Soarin, my cell had been ringing non-stop, but I was in an area where I could not get a signal strong enough to answer after Soarin, I was able to get my messages and called DS back who had DH's cell phone for the trip since DH was at home. He had done everything he wanted at Animal Kingdom and than tried to go over to Poly to rent a Kayake (I think that is the type of boat he tried to rent), and could not because I needed to be there to sign a form, I told him he could do it another time, so he was in Epcot, he met us in The Land and we all went to ride Figment, which DD loved, even though she was taking a fit that she did not want to do this ride (she was just being difficult this trip). After Figment, DD got chosen to help with the camera demonstration and I taped this and she had a blast and got a cute photo to take home. We all headed back to Pop and then headed to DTD and DQ for a little while, the kids rode Buzz once and did some free games, we played Mighty Duck Pinball Slam, DS came in first and I came in 2nd out of about 6 players.
We then had dinner at Planet Hollywood and Vincent started to feel ill
Todays meals:
DS ate at Tusker House - Rotisserie Chicken, cheesecake bottle of water ($13.70)
Cape May $34.00
Sunshine Season Food Fair scoop of ice cream $2.99
Planet Hollywod, 2 adults, 1 kid ($102.98) we used three table services

Day 8 - August 29, 2005
Since DS had an upset stomach last night, we decided to have a late start today. We had cereal bars and then the kids went swimming, while I washed our clothes in the laundry room, while the clothes were washing we had lunch the kids made Jelly sandwiches from the room and I had the Chicken Penne Alfredo, coke and cupcake ($12.94) this was a good meal. When the clothes were finished, we headed back to the room with the clean clothes. I had planned to go swimming for a little while longer but it started to rain, so I showered changed and we headed to MGM for dinner, while swimming we had made reservations for H&V. We first went to Mermaid but it was for 6 p.m., so we did the Magic of Animation then headed to Mermaid since it was almost 6 p.m.. But the show was moved back to 6:30 p.m. so we decided to head to Millionaire the kids enjoyed this show a lot and DD is determined to win the cruise. We then walked to H&V, and on the way noticed a 10 minute wait for Star Tours it was a walk on, only as long as the preshow, then we ate at H&V ($69.23 with tax/tip we used three table services) and headed back to Pop, played a few minutes in the arcade an early night

Day 9 - August 30, 2005
Today we headed to Epcot, we wanted to do both lands today.
Got a FP for soarin and did the standby line which was 10 minutes, next we did living with the land, which was awesome and now DS is looking forward to our tour on the 4th Behind the Seeds, rode Soarin again, and got a FP, had lunch at the Garden Grill ($73.46). DD had a blast with Chip and Dale again, she was folding napkins with them, and at one point Chip and Dale were fighting over her bunny one of them was playing with the tail and the other hit that one with a napkin, I don't know which did which, I always have trouble telling them apart. The kids got the bright idea at the end of the meal to have the characters sign the menu, but the character had gone on a break, and we were waiting and I finally said lets go, and DD was like they are coming back and I said they went through that door and the door was gone, it was right next to us and then it was down away from us, I thought I was seeing things, and that is when I realized that we had been moving, I was a little slow and never realized that we were moving. We all had a good laugh including our server.
After this we went to ride Soarin one more time, after this we walked over and did Figment, again Rebecca was chosen to do the demonstration, so we got another photo, next we did the character meet and greet and got our free photo and had it sent back to the hotel, and rode Spaceship earth.
Then we walked over the Land, we started in Mexico and worked our way around and did most of it, before DD lost her mask and was becoming cranky so we scrapped the rest, but we did the two boat rides, which the kids loved, we did Maelstrom twice, a CM was nice enough to take us through FP lane to ride a second time. On the second time my DS had some fun with the people behind us who nervous that there would be a big drop at the part where you go backwards he told them that we were going to go backwards down a drop like Splash and they started to scream and then when it did not happen he was like Syche, I told him it was funny but wrong to do that. The people laughed and were good sports.
We had been dying to try a Turkey leg since before we went, so I got a Turkey leg for DS and took a few taste out of it, and loved it. Next time I go I want to get one again. We traded pins and then decided to get a spot for Illuminatinos. I got me and DD some chicken nuggets and fries She fed the fries to the birds which swarmed our bench, we stood to watch it and had a pretty good view. DS went in search a spot to film it and found a good spot. We headed back to the hotel.

Day 10 - August 31, 2005
Family Magic Tour (I believe we paid about $56 with a Visa discount) highlight Rebecca was thrilled to sit next to Wendy during Philharmagic. DS joined in and had a blast. Lunch at the Castle. Rode Buzz 2x when we arrived at 9:20 thinking we were late for check in and were early so from 9:20 til 9:45 we rode Buzz and got 2x FP for later. After the tour we had lunch at CRT ($74.09 2 adults, 1 child) and rode Buzz with FP and headed back to Pop, had to wait for pool to reopen because of thunderstorms kids swam until late and made some friends from abroad.
Food:
Breakfast at Everything Pop ($29.28) 2 bagels, 2 bottles of water, Croissant, 2 french toast, chocolate chip pancakes and half pt of milk
Dinner at Everything Pop $43.33 apple strawberry juice box, coke, cupcake, KM chicken nugget with fries, (2) Mom TV dinner Wed, pudding, bottled water, cheesecake plain
Note with the nachos, it was hard to eat the way it is served ask for some of the toppings to be put on the side and the cheese only on top of the nachos. These were great

Day 11 - September 1, 2005
< Today was Animal Kingdom, we had a quick breakfast the kids got food at the food court ($22.15 two counters services for us) and I ate cereal in the room.
We headed to AK and I got a locker for our stuff, DS Got FP for Kilmanajaro and we did its tough to be a bug, then we rode Kali River Rapids, we walked right on and we were able to stay on a second time, with a different group of people, got off and walked right back on again for a third time. At this point we were soaked to the bone so we decided to head for the safari and did this. It started to appear as though it was going to rain so we headed to Restaurantosaurus for lunch, we ate and our bill was $33.84 (but three counters services for us). After this DD played in the Boneyard for a few minutes but they were closing because of thunder, so we headed back to the resort, to wait out the storm. DD was having a fit again because she was mad that she could not go in the pool because of the thunder. DS called a few times to check and see if the water parks were open again.
When we got the word that the water parks were open again we headed for Blizzard Beach, this was our first time and we would not make it to Typhoon Lagoon on this trip, so that is something we have to try on our next trip. I got a small locker and three towels, I should have rented the towels after we were done (live and learn). DS went off to ride Summit which had a long line, and DD and I walked around with and were trying the wave pool when she insisted that she needed water shoes, as my sandals were slipping off, and the bottom was also bothering my feet I got us both a pair of water shoes and this set me back about $30.00 for the two of us. We went back to the wave pool and I pushed her around a bit and tried to talk her in to the lazy river, but she insisted she wanted to stay, I was taking some photos of her and she tried to push her self back to the deeper part and her tube flipped and she scrapped her elbows and her back on the bottom, minor scrapes but she has a thing about blood, so it became a big thing.
The lifeguard gave us a rag to put on the elbows and we went to first aid where she was so nervous, that she cooperated and let them clean her cuts. We usually have to pin her down while the other person cleans her cuts, and taking a bath with cuts and her is a nightmare. We got a pretzel and ate that for awhile and then found DS, DD rode the smaller of the two slides Slush Gusher, 1st she came and then DS. She then decided she wanted to try Summit, her and DS went up and he came down and no Rebecca, he said she was walking down the stairs and he was going to get her. She changed her mind and again they went up and again DS came down and at that point it was almost time to leave the kids decided to try out this little tube ride where you go down a small slide in a tube which is to the right of Summit they did this three times and then the park was officially closed we got our stuff, dried off a bit and returned the key for our $5 deposit back and headed to Pop where we changed for dinner.
DTD for shopping and dinner, I paid for DD meal at Planet hollywood since all she was getting was the Spaghetti, her meal with tip was $10.00 even. Me and DS had Coke Sprite, texas tostadas, potato skins, ny steak w/veg, chicken penne broccoli, cheesecake and Strawberry shortcake which came to ($89.70 with tax/tip). This was awesome

Day 12 - September 2, 2005
DD woke me up at 5 a.m. because she was about to get sick, got her to the bathroom. After this she went back to sleep and I went down to get more towels and Tylenol, I also paid for the following 2 apples Juiceboxes, 2 bagels, 2 croissants ($13.36). I had given DS the go ahead the night before to try and make a park opening and that I would join him with DD later. He called and decided to come back to the room because he was feeling a little ill. Both kids slept on and off and they had a light dinner and I had the chicken penne alfredo which is a good meal.

Day 13 - September 3, 2005
We slept in today, after the spending a day in the hotel room, the kids were itching to get out. Even though both still felt a little iffy we decided to take the first bus that came. We headed out around lunchtime to MGM, which was the first bus that came. We got a rental stroller for DD, just to be on the safe side and assure that she would not overdo it. We did Millinaire and DS almost made it to the hot seat. We did One Mans Dream next and then had lunch at BackLot Express ($38.11), we then did Little Mermaid and headed back to Millionaire, where DS made it to the hot seat. The question that got him there was putting the songs in order for Pochontas and they listed four songs, we were all surprised, there were less than 10 people on the board that got it right and he was the number one. We were very excited.
He got three questions away from the last question and that is when he got it wrong, after that he would have had two more questions. So he got the $32,000 prize, since that was the highest plateau. When he was done the show was over, he truly enjoyed being in the hot seat he was determined to get there to win the hat since he had lost a hat on the trip. He placed his pins on a lanyard with pin locks, which I am sure he wore to the parks the next day. After the game it was raining really hard so we headed back to Pop where the kids swam in the rain it was a little to chilly for my taste. We then headed back to the room where the kids got dressed. I was bad and spent a long time talking to Beccy on my cell so the kids had a late dinner. We all spent $1 each in the arcade and then back to the room for bed DS went to sleep happy.
Dinner at Everything Pop bottled water, carrot cake, Mom TV Dinner Sat, Chicken penne alfredo, km mac and cheese ($28.16)

Day 14 - September 4, 2005
Today was my Birthday and we started our day with breakfast at 1900 Park Fare ($57.08 for 2 adults and 1 child). This was great and I got a nice birthday cupcake. We then headed to MK and walked around a bit and then headed to Epcot for Behind the Seeds, the tour was great, since we had waited so long to go to Epcot by time we got there the FP time for Soarin was already 7 p.m. After the tour we got a snack and then headed back to the hotel. Where DS and DD tried to surprise me with a cake they hid in the cooler.
Not realizing this I lingered and stopped to get a shirt at the store, and apparently DS had lit the candles and was calling my cell phone so the candles burned down and burnt the cake. But we took off the burnt part and just picked at the rest and ate a good portion of it, due to this we were now not hungry enough for a 6 p.m. dinner at CP so we tried to move it back and it proved difficult we headed to MK and rode some things can not recall off hand and were able to finally secure a good seating time for CP ($74.09 for 2 adults and 1 child) and during dinner we went out and watched Wishes and I got to see Tink fly for the first time and this was my first time watching wishes in its entirety. DS videotaped it. We headed back to Pop and went to bed
Behind the Seeds tour is great for adults and children that are curious about plants. This is not a tour for real small children, as it is long and the greenhouses are hot. If you are traveling with another family, this is a good reprieve you could take turn watching each families children and this would be a good way to have some adult only time. My DS paid for the tour with his trip spending money as my birthday present, and he also got me the cake which ended up burning. I told him that it was still a great cake.

Day 15 - September 5, 2005
Today we had breakfast at the resort 2 bagels, 3 bottles of water, cereal with milk, croissant, 2 french toast. When breakfast was done, Beccy was there to pick us up. We headed to the outlet mall and did some shopping, I got a great pair of shoes at Ralph Lauren on sale for work and Beccy got me an extra 15% off. Got a few inexpensive shirts for DD for school. DS who wants to collect Disney watches got a great price on a Dopey watch at the Disney Outlet $15.00 for a $30.00 watch. He also got a Mickey one for about $25.00 that was originally close to $60.00, I picked up some odds and ends for friends and got myself a musical figure with Lady and the Tramp for $5.99 which was adorable.
We then headed to Walmart to meet the others who were going to GKTW. It started to pour as we were heading out to the village. The tour was great, everyone had ice cream, and it was great to meet others from the board and be able to put faces to names. If you have a car, you should plan a visit, once you go, you will totally get what it is all about. This is a very special place, I was honored that Beccy gave me a lift to see the village. I also got to meet Wendy, who does such wonderful stuff for the village and is one of the most giving and caring people I have met in a long time, not to mention a wonderfully bubbly personality, she has the most wonderful girlish giggle. I look forward to chatting with her when she gets back from Holiday.
After Beccy dropped us off at the hotel, my kids both stated that if and when we go back they want to visit the village again.
It was past lunch and we were hungry so we headed to DTD and grabbed some food at MCD's and did some more shopping. We got some nice soap at Basin (note that you can get an AP discount in this store).
Back to the hotel and the kids swam while I did the laundry to pack and we ate at the food court again.
1 Bottled water, cheese pizza, cheesecake plain, (2) cokes, cupcake, fresh baked cookie, (2) meatball subs ($32.66)

Day 16 - September 6, 2005
I was up late washing clothes the night before and trying to pack for the return home only to find we had more stuff than room in our bags. Note to self each person should have at least one good size bag, we had 3 tiny bags that held pretty much nothing. Luggage at the resort was so expensive. So we took a cab to Walmart, Got a five piece set three towels and luggage tags and a few other small items, and took the cab back to Pop and this saved us $80.00 over what we would cost to get one bag at Everything Pop.
Got back to Pop finished packing checked luggage in with ME and got boarding passes and headed to MK for lunch at CP ($61.94 2 adults and 1 child). Had a great lunch. Took a walk toward BTMRR to see if we could ride on the way there we walked on to Aladdins Carpet during which it started to rain, we took shelter for a few minutes than headed to Pirates which was another walk on. From there we got Fp for BTMRR and then played the gun game in Frontierland the kids played checkers waiting for our FP time. ON the way to BTMRR for our FP Vincent asked to ride Splash since it was a 10 minute standby line. So me and DD waited and watched the logs coming down since she did not want to ride. DS got off and we used our FP for BTMRR this is our favorite family ride besides Buzz, watch the standby time it can be deceiving. Most of the time it was way off, it was say 20 - 30 minutes and the line was more like and hour. We avoided the standby most of the time, but did get a few lucky times were it was 5 or 10 minutes and even a walk on. When this was over DD wanted to ride again but the line was too long and we needed to head back to Pop to meet our driver.
She then wanted to ride Splash but even with the little wait we did not have time to get this ride in now. We rode the train from Frontierland to Main Street and got on a bus and headed to Pop. I made a pit stop to use our last Counter service and I got PB&J with water and cupcake for later ($8.27). DS got our carry on and we were off to the airport for our flight home. Sat that the fun was over.
Highlight of today, when we were at CP, and finished paying we still have 2 Table services left and we had been chatting with the woman in the next table and her two kids, who were staying off site and it was their first day of vacation (and they did not have the dining plan). DS was like lets give them 2 TS remaining and I was pleased since I was thinking the same thing, he asked our waitress if we could do this and she said yes. I let him do this with his room card so he got to sign for the bill and everything. We had the waitress wait till we left the woman had been getting desert and came back right before we were leaving and had just finished covering two of her three meals ($37.65) It was nice to spread some magic and I hope it made her day a little more special.
At the airport we got some MCDs before the flight, DS had 10 nuggets and large friesd, DD got two plain cheeseburgers and I got the Filet of Fish and large fries ($15.17).
Our plane landed around 10:30 p.m. in NY and we got our luggage and I called for a company car and we headed home after arguing with the driver, who had so much stuff in his trunk he was not sure he could fit the luggage. He got one large bag and two small bags in the trunk and the rest went in the car with us. But we got home in one piece. I still have to unpack this weekend. DS started school the next morning and DD started school on the 8th.
I am already trying to figure out we can try to get another trip this year ;-) spacer
