Susan & Family - January 2006

Cast of "crazies" Susan (50) DH-Galen (51) DS-Michael (8) DD-Molly (8)

We arrived and stayed off site on the 27th. Got in got some groceries and investigated Fairfield Cypress Palms. Very nice. Had supper in and Took the kids swimming. Good thing the pool was warm as the adults were chilly.

Jan 28th-- Happy anniversary to US (17 years)! Grabbed the kids and tiptoed our way in a rental car (1rst time driving at the world) to the Magic Kingdom. We had 9:15 reservations at the Castle, so we really hurried to get there after opening. Michael wasn't really impressed w/meeting Cinderella, but we got a really nice picture w/both kids. We walked upstairs and had breakfast. I agree w/some others that I'm not sure I would do this again. The food was very good, I thought. Our waiter joked and played w/another family next to us, but only asked if we were OK? (I've had better service other places. He didn't look too thrilled w/his tip, but I wasn't too thrilled w/his service either.) The characters were very nice if brief visits from Mary Poppins, Princess Aurora, Fairy Godmohter and Snow White.

Then we wandered through many rides; Snow White, PeterPan, Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella's Carousel, Haunted mansion, Hall of Presidents, Raceway, People Mover or TTL. We saw Buzz, but the kids didn't want his autograph. They were disappointed that Buzz's ride was being refurbed. We did Stitch's Ride which I thought really pressed down on your shoulders, was smelly and generally disappointing after the big lead in. The kids did the Goofy Rollercoaster twice, once by themselves w/daddy standing by and once w/Dad who really doesn't enjoy coasters. We enjoyed Toontown and Meeting Mickey and resting in fornt of Minnie's House. The kids really enjoyed it. We ate supper at Cosmic Rays. Galen and I split 1/2 Chicken and the kids got chicken chunks. b/4 we knew it it was dark and we had to figure out if we could find our way home w/the rental car. We went home a different route, but made it safely.
