Downtown Disney and dinner at Chef Mickey's
Happy Birthday to my mom!!!!!!!!!!! She is a Saint Patrick's Day baby!!!
We decided to start the trip right by going to Downtown Disney for some
shopping! Our first stop was Once Upon a Toy where all of the boys made their very own lightsaber!! What more could a boy want than to get to make a lightsaber with Daddy! I was the photographer for this event. This was what the boys wanted for their "prize" from Disney World. I also got 2 full boxes of Disney parts to go with our Mr. Potato Heads! Now we can make Dumbo, Mr. Incredible, Chef Mickey, Cruise Director Mickey, a pirate, and much more. They have bins of
pototo head parts at this store. You fill a box of parts for $20.00. Last summer we
got parts to make R2D2, Darth Tater, and Spud Trooper. We had to add to our
growing collection. In the back Princess Room there is also an area where you
fill a box of My Little Ponies and accessories. I can't wait to take Kinsey
there someday!!!!! I NEVER get to spend time in the Princess room now.
The next stop was the scrapbooking store! I got some great stickers for the
boys autograph albums and some awesome 2007 Disney paper for our family
scrapbook album.
Then we headed to LegoLand- another favorite store. The Lego statues at
Downtown Disney are amazing. I also had to check out the Disney Christmas store for new ornaments. But, I was good and didn't get anything. I could just spend all day in this store. We walked around and took some great pictures of the kids
with all of the character statues around Downtown Disney.
Our last big stop here was World of Disney store! This is the largest Disney
store in the world!! Again, I could just spend an entire day here, but the boys were getting a little tired. I did buy a Mickey picture frame. I get a new one each trip and put our favorite photo from the trip in it.
Of course we had to hit a Wal-Mart before getting to the hotel. We had to get drinks, snacks, and goodies for the week!! After all of the shopping and photo sessions...we needed a break. So, we went to the hotel and let the boys swim for a little bit. They were in heaven. I was so glad that Tyler and COlby remembered so much from their swimming lessons last summer. They are little fish!!
After swimming we let the boys rest. Then, we had to get ready for our dinner
at Chef Mickey's!! This is one of our favorite restaurants at Disney. It is in the COntemporary Hotel (which is VERY close to the Magic Kingdom). We checked in for dinner and had our table in less than 5 minutes. This is an all you can eat buffet dinner! YUMMY!! Max started getting the boys plates while I got the autograph books and markers ready for the characters! We got to see the
FAB 5- Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto!!!!!!! As you eat the characters
go around to each table for autographs and pictures. SO, on our first night
the boys already had autographs from some of their favorite characters. The
boys were so good and the characters spent a long time with us!! The food was
amazing!! Just as we were finishing dinner we heard the fireworks starting at
the Magic Kingdom. SO, we went to the observation deck at the hotel and had a
pretty good view of the fireworks. What a perfect first day at Disney!!!
