HI ALL
Here I am and well at least somewhat healthier. Last week I was just down and spent the majority of the week in bed
or on the couch. I went nowhere for days!!! I hate to be that sick but I guess it happens.
It seems like of the trip is a blur already. My pictures are waiting for me at Sam's Club to pick them up and
I have to upload the pics from the digital camera too.
Back in Feb (20th) when we left, it was cold and it is still cold!!! There is so much excitement about the airports
and safety and all and to us, it seemed no different. We did see people being wanded and the like, but we had no
problems going to or from Florida.
Somehow we did end up with lots of rain and the day that we met Dawn, Mike and the boys at the Magic Kingdom, it rained
all day as it did on Saturday. WE had fun with Dawn and family and walked around MK and had lunch. They are very nice people.
We stayed at All Star Movies Resort for 3 days and they have the Big Dalmatians, Andy's Room and this neat stuff.
We were at the Mighty Ducks.
We did lot of fun stuff and one day Lindsee picked up a pearl from the oyster ( I guess it is) at the Japan
Pavilion in Epcot. Hers was 7 mm and very nice. She picked a charm and had it it set in that!!
We ate at the Mexican pavilion in Epcot one night and that was so nice. We had a table by the water and could watch
the boats go. That was so pleasant and nice and relaxing. I had chicken and it was good. We went to Illuminations
and it was a great fireworks show. Lindsee also made a mask as in each country in Epcot, they add soemthing
to it which was neat.
Next was MGM and this time we made it to Pizza Planet for lunch and that is a fun place. We got a late
start as we went swimming in the pools at the resort and they were heated and warm!!! The afternoon stars
and cars parade was neat and the Hates from Hercules had a hearse as is his car, Buzz and Woody were in Andy's
bed...fun parade!!! We basically walked around and did a few things and then ate supper at the Prime Time 50's
cafe which is an old 50's cafe and is so neat. Mom or the waiters come out and you sit at big long metal
tables and old tv shoes play. We had a very funny waiter named Tim and there are no elbows allowed on the table which
he stringly enforced. We all had to wash our hands for dinner and Dave got yelled as he did not set the table and
was wearing his hat at the table. You must eat your vegetables to get dessert and Dave got yelled at
again. Dave told Tim to mail the veggies to starving people and it was so funny as we all did airplane sounds
and then Dave got a spoonful of veggies down the hatch....Lindsee and I laughed like crazy..LOL!!! That night
we went to Fantasmic and watched Sorcerer Mickey defeat evil in a light show and that was neat!!!
Friday it rained and we did meet Dawn and did Hall of Presidents which is neat and have done that before, we
also rode Peter Pans flight and some other rides. For as much as it rained, there were lots of people at the
parks in rain coats and getting wet!!! I think this is where my cold came from!!!! After Dawn left, we
headed to Main Street for the day parade which is the characters in water globes and still in the rain!!
The parade started late and then there were 5 globes in it is all!!! It took 15 minutes and it
was nice but not worth the wait!!! After getting wet enough we went back to the resort and changed
and stayed there for a bit. We went to the Florida Mall and ate supper and walked around.
Saturday we had a reservation at the Wilderness Lodge and that is such an awesome place. It is built to resemble
Yellowstone Park and has this huge operational fireplace in it. Our room was awesome and we had a balcony
which was covered so we could sit there in the rain. We ate lunch here and hung around and then late in the afternoon
still in the rain, we headed to the park. We did some rides but it sure got chilly later in the day.
We will definitely stay at this resort again!!!
Sunday we went to 8 am mass at the Polynesian and that is always beautiful. We ate breakfast at the Polynesian.
We headed back to the Wilderness and walked around some and then checked out and headed for Port Canaveral to get the
Disney ship. I knew this ship was big from all the pictures but the ship is HUGE!!!!! We quickly checked and found
out our stateroom # 5630. As a cast member, we had no idea what type of state room, we were to get till we got on
the ship. Here goes..we get the deluxe state room sleeps 4) with the verandah and by no means was this a cheap room!!!
We ate lunch and then went to the Sail away party. We had supper at Tritons that night for early seating (6 pm all nights) and also had a birthday cake
and waitresses and waiters sang to him. I guess this was all nice but I was so sick and had to leave.
I never got sea sick on Carnival so I do not know happened here on this ship. Dave did get me dramamine but that
did not do much good. It was a bad sailing night and most of the people were sick that night too.
I stayed in the cabin and the rest is history. Lindsee did fine and went to the kids club and all which
I am glad. Dave never got sick and left me there in the room which I was not happy about and he did hear about later.
Monday on the Disney cruise, I woke up still blah feeling and what a way to feel!!! Dave was mad at me as this did not happen to me on Carnival
and we wasted money, etc. Leave it to a man, I am sick but the money matters!!! I did get some
breakfast in me and we went on our excursion to the Atlantis Hotel in Nassau. We went by a boat and got
a historical tour and got to Atlantis. It is huge and beautiful. We toured the many awesome aquariums
with a guide, walked thru the casino (HUGE!!!) and were left to walk around by ourselves. There is the one
suite in there which is equvalent to 8 bedrooms and it is the bridge suite. It costs $25,000 a night and
can only be rented by the week. My dream, ha!!!! We had lunch at the grill there and there were
36 other restaurants to choose. It was outside and very nice. We walked thru the shops after lunch and then left.
We went and walked into town which was quite dirty and your typical island. I did get some mallorca pearls
with earrings and bracelet, too. We went back to the boat to prepare for supper. We were
eating in Animator's Palate and that was so neat. The pictures change colors, the walls change colors, the
waiters and waitresses' vests change colors. It was fun.
Next day we were in Freeport and that required a taxi ride to town, so we decided to swim on the boat and do other things
and not go into town. Lindsee loved the water slide and had a great time. We did go to some shops right
by where we were in port and got some t-shirts. That night, Lindsee went to the kids part as she did most
other nights and had so much fun. Dave and I went to the adult only restaurant called Palos and that was very nice.
We had filet mignon and that was so good...best meal we had. I had baked souffle for dessert.
Well it was good while it lasted and then in the middle of the night, I got sick. It just was not my good
time I guess.
Next day I sent Dave and Lindsee off to breakfast alone and took it easy. I had heard so much about Castaway Cay,
Disnney's private island and all, so I wanted to get there. After breakfast we went and dropped Lindsee off with the kids
program and then took the tram to the adult beach. We got there and it poured!!!! Back on the tram and then shortly
it was sunny. By then it was close to lunch which did not do much for me anyway. Dave and I went and walked on the beach
and just relaxed. He later got Lindsee and all and I fell asleep in the sun and the sunscreen did not help
anyway. Oh well, chalk it up to the rest of the time, lol!!! After a bit we left and went back
to the ship. We played bingo and did not win. Ate a quiet supper and saw a show later and then got ready to
leave the ship.
Thursday we ate an early break fast and left the ship. It was a great trip if I had not been sick. The ship
was awesome and all.
